I wasn’t sure who to turn to, because I react to the comments in the back end, which is WordPress. Only when it gets rendered in the front end, it becomes a Nexus Theme.

Are there any useful comment plugins I can use instead or should I ask that in another forum?

I followed your advice and I did a manual update of 5.2 and everything works fine again (phew!). Thanks for your help. I have more websites that need to be updated, and now I know what to do when the automatic update fails for some reason.

If there are core files missing, then the automatic update has caused those to be removed, because yesterday the website worked fine, then the automatic update ran and then the website was broken.

I just read that one of the requirements for version 5.2 is to have PHP 7.3. The installed version on his website (and mine for that matter) doesn’t go any higher than 7.2.16 and 7.2.18.

Could this be causing the problem?

I have the plugin on my homepage (set to 8 links), but also on an entire page, where I want the number of links set to 75. If I add the filter to functions.php, would both linklists be affected?

I just did exactly that and the error didn’t show up, so I guess it’s updated properly now ?? The website I updated when the error occurred is the Dutch version, by the way. Not sure if that matters, but I also have an English WordPress website, which updated without any hiccups.

But that is kinda the problem. The permalink structure is okay. It’s just that I made the posts first and then decided to have them in a category. So the permalink was created first (without the category in the URL) but now I want to change the permalink of those specific posts to ones that show the category.

Now I have an inconsistency, where part of the posts in that category have the category name in the URL and another part doesn’t. It won’t make any difference in how my website works, but for the sake of SEO, it would be great if I can get it all in the same way.

If there’s a way to do that, I’d be very happy ??
