Please check if you have disable caption form
Dashboard -> Appearance -> Customize -> Featured Slider -> Slider Options and activate the Enable Caption checkbox.

The slider pulls the contents of the page selected on the Featured Slider option to display on the front-end. Meaning, the theme will display the featured image of the page as slider image, the title of the page as slider title and the content of the page as slider description. Yes you do need add the loop with the_content() call inside get_header() and get_footer() call.

Since our theme is based on custom widgets, we do not provide
the_content()call on front page. However, you can modify the front-page.php and add the_content call with the loop which is responsible for the front page display of your theme.Hope it helps.
