In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Stop the Yoast error emails!I’m very sorry to hear about all the error messages you are getting. I see you were on 14.0.2 a the time. Did you already update to 14.0.4 by any chance? And if so, did that solve the issue?
Also, to answer your questions. The settings of Yoast SEO should be saved in the database and when you reinstall the plugin the settings will be reinstated as they were.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO: Search Index Purge] Is the plugin is working for me?Hi,
The drop in crawl errors could be because the Search Index Purge plugin is working for you. Having said that, the Search Index Purge plugin also create 410’s which Google Search Console picks up as a crawl error as well. You can mark these as fixed as soon as the intended URL is removed from the index.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO: Search Index Purge] Yoast Purge Plugin Removal — Attachment URLsHi Julian,
Let’s dive into your questions
1. What would happen if I remove the plugin at this point? What would happen to those 279 errors? Is there ANY harm I can do by deactivating it now?
if these URL’s are still in the Google index you should keep the Search Index Purge plugin active. Google can check multiple times if a page is still a 410 before removing it from the index.
2. IF the plugin has done what it is supposed to do (no additional 410 errors) wouldn’t it make sense to remove it now or do I need to wait until Google removes the 410s at some point in time?
If Google has not removed the URL from their index yet, you want to keep the 410 for that URL active until they remove it. Otherwise, you have a chance they start crawling that URL like normal again.
3. IF I can deactivate it, can I then just mark all of the errors in Search Console as “fixed” and then remove the attachment sitemap too?
Yes, if the URLs are no longer in the index you can mark them as fixed. If Google processed the 410 correctly they should never crawl that URL again which means the Google Search Console crawl error should not come back anymore.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
If you go to SEO > Search Appearance > Media and have the Search Index Purge plugin active, you should see the message ‘These settings are being overridden by the Search Index Purge plugin.’
This indicates that the Search Index Purge plugin is active.
