In reply to: Working locally and pushing to remote serverHmm interesting. I don’t really know what a git repository is… but i can google it and get an idea.
Let me understand this. Whatever changes I make will be made immediatelly (like dropbox would) or do i have the option to “push” them to the live server once everything is working? I think the answer is yes.
It would look something like this (right?):
local copy -> repo copy -> live siteAs for the command line access I have godaddy as my host, not sure if they provide it. What would i need it for? I am not a programmer.
Thanks for your help! Very curious to see what other people are doing.

In reply to: Redirect websiteI just realized originally I had “site1” installed to the root of the domain, not a folder inside the root.
I went to my cpanel and under my domains I see that the primary domain (which is the one I want to use) has the option to edit it greyed out. All other domains have the option of redirecting to a specific folder but not the main domain.
What I am trying to get at is the fact that the domain was never pointing to “site1” since that one lived on the root of the ftp.
Is it possible godaddy doesnt let you do that at all with primary domains?
I would call them but I am out of the US at the moment.
Thanks for your helps so far.

In reply to: tiled background image different resolutionsThat works.. but here is the problem, I center it to what is the center in my screen resolution. But when a bigger or smaller screen resolution (or browser window)views the site it will be off-center.

In reply to: Broken wordpress website :SThe refreshing of permalinks didnt do the trick but I did find find that the structure was wrong. I went into settings and noticed that the field named “site address (URL)” had the wrong URL so I just added the “/wordpress” to the end and now everything works.
Thanks for your help.. Lesson learned!

In reply to: Broken wordpress website :SYour last post gave me an idea… Originally there were no URLs on the file but I went ahead and added them (with the right URL) and its partially working again!
I can now login to the dashboard and the homepage displays fine. But all the navigation links on the top are broken. Seems they are looking in the wrong directory when trying to load… I have no clue what is going on!!

In reply to: Broken wordpress website :SI actually replaced the modified funtions.php with the original copy (which had no URLs at all) and the problem is still there. So there really is nothing to change back to… This is all so strange
