In reply to: New tags don’t show in cloudThanks for the quick reply.
It’s the widget that was already there when wordpress was installed, I didn’t do anything to get it. I don’t see anything in sidebar.php that relates to the tag cloud or to tags at all. Site is here: https://ohbuoyancy.net if you want to take a look.Forum: Your WordPress
In reply to: Finally on WordPressThanks. Yeah, I had some htaccess issues but they’ve been resolved.
I know what you mean about the banner, I’ve thought about it and I probably will make a new one eventually.
I’m not sure what you mean about the flickr feed taking a lot of time to manage, I never have to do anything to it, it’s just the badge available on flickr.

In reply to: 404 errors from htaccessI was having this same problem and the same thing (which I just tried by chance, I didn’t even change it to original and back, just clicked save on what was already selected—date) fixed it for me too. Thank you for sharing this, others were trying to make me think I was crazy.

In reply to: Image have Disappeared from Themes! This is my current problem:
(I DO NOT HAVE HOTLINKING PROTECTION ENABLED)Images only show sporadically, if I go to my c-panel, enable hotlinking protection then disable it again immediately, images will work -until I do anything in the WP dashboard, then all pages quit working (About, post pages, etc, ALL pages), then I go to the WP settings for permalinks and save my settings again (without changing anything), then pages work but images quit showing again after a few minutes. It’s an endless loop.
Everything is working now, but for how long?

In reply to: Image have Disappeared from Themes!I didn’t say wordpress had anything to do with hotlinking! I didn’t know if hotlinking was the problem, IT WAS NOT ENABLED!

In reply to: Import from bloggerFrom what I know, you cannot import a blogger blog that is hosted on a ftp website, you have to switch to blogger hosting then import it. That’s what I did and it worked great.

In reply to: Image have Disappeared from Themes! As I said, they are in the list. And I didn’t know if the problem had anything to do with the hotlinking protection when I posted it (and therefore could have had something to do with WP), as it was not enabled.

In reply to: Image have Disappeared from Themes!Correction, now after enabling and disabling the protection the images show again.
How can I enable protection and still have the images show?Forum: Your WordPress

In reply to: Trouble blocking a nasty referrerASO just got back to me (that was quick!):
There isn’t a way to remove tvsetmp3.com from your AWStats referrers, but the site was able to be added to your Hotlink Protection because your .htaccess file was world-writable. I’ve removed it from .htaccess and changed the file’s permissions so it’s now only writable by Apache and your account, so it can’t be added again. If you have any further questions, please let us know.
Regards,
JeffLike I said I’m new to paid hosting, so the way I know to do things may not be the “right” way. I had never even heard of .htaccess until last week. When I’m talking about hotlink protection, I’m talking about the thing under security in the c-panel that says “hotlink protection.” The site is not showing up there anymore, now that Jeff fixed it for me. However I noticed that when I enable the protection (it wasn’t enabled previously) the header image on my blog disappears.

In reply to: Trouble blocking a nasty referrerThe site keeps re-appearing in the list of allowed urls for hotlinking! I remove it and minutes later it’s back, what can I do about that?
I’ve contacted my host (ASO), but is there anything I can do now?

In reply to: Trouble blocking a nasty referrerOkay, I got the access log thing now.
Will denying that IP do anything?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Trouble blocking a nasty referrerThanks I’ll do that now.
Just make sure you see that theyre getting a 403.
How would I do that? I’m not looking at raw apache logs (I don’t know what they are honestly) I’m looking at awstats from my c-panel.
