  • I had this issue and it was infuriating.
I think the plugin updated and it wiped the API keys from the plugin.

I had to login to server (i.e. cPanel) and access the files for the plugin. I then managed to disable the plugin by renaming the “login-sidebar-widget” folder.
After this I was able to login via: https://[website]/wp-admin

Once logged into the WordPress Admin, I undone the renaming of the “login-sidebar-widget” folder, to reactivate the plugin.
Then visited the plugins page on the website and the plugin was there and activated.
Lastly I went to the settings of the plugin “Login Widget Settings” and enter the reCAPTCHA keys.

It all seem fixed after this.

Please can you store the API keys (and all other customized settings) in the wp-content/uploads folder where I believe they’re supposed to be and not in the wp-content/plugin folder where they are probably stored, so they don’t get overwritten / wiped when the plugin upgrades.

    Hi Champ,

Many thanks for your quick reply!
I have just taken screen videos of the front facing web pages that the directories are on (yes, multiple directories on a single page).
One shows them loading when I’m logged out, and displaying as intended. The next shows the directories not loading when I’m logged in.

Is this what you meant? If so, please can I have an e-mail address to share the links privately?
    Thanks,
    Jim

I have the same issue too (see below).
This is the second time now. Is there a reason for it? How do I stop it?
    The plugin is up-to-date and I’m Bcc’ing 7-roles with about 200 e-mail addresses.
SMTP is not setup through this plugin, because I’m using a sitewide plugin (Easy WP SMTP) to make all e-mails go via SMTP.

    Thanks for you help,
    Jim
