    Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. If this was a full map plugin that allowed you to configure markers, etc. I think a Gutenberg map block would be an awesome upgrade. As it stands, we simply hijack other maps and apply styles to your existing maps.

I’m not too familiar with Gutenberg blocks yet but I’ll have to read up on them more and see if there’s anything we can do with them in the future.

    Thanks again!

    Hi all,

Sorry for the delay. I’ve updated the plugin to work with the latest versions of both PHP (version 8) and WordPress (version 5.7).

Please update to the latest version of our plugin (version 1.4.0) and let me know if you experience any other issues.

Thanks and apologies again for the slow update!

    Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. That will depend on which plugin you used to build the map on your WordPress site. Our Snazzy Maps WordPress Plugin only has support for applying styles to maps that other plugins manage.

If you’re looking for more configuration, you could also try the map builder on our site here:

    https://snazzymaps.com/build-a-map

    Hopefully that helps!

    Hi all,

I did resolve the initial problem on November 4th and it was up for a couple days before being pulled for a security issue.

The security issue was that we weren’t using a nonce for all GET requests that performed actions. This could potentially allow a malicious actor to enable/disable/remove one of the styles saved in the Site Styles tab of the plugin (not the end of the world but we still should be following best practices).

I’ve just submitted an update to the plugin and I’m waiting to hear back from WordPress. The approvals can take a bit of back and forth and possibly up to a week but hopefully I hear back soon and the plugin can get back up.

As for the company Atmist no longer existing, it’s true we closed up shop recently. I (Adam) will be taking over the site and plugin and will be switching over everything soon enough.

Sorry for the delay but we should be back up shortly, thanks!

Sorry about that, we experienced a few hours of downtime this morning from 3:30 AM to 8:30 AM MST. We identified the issue and brought the site back up shortly after that. We are working on ensuring this doesn’t happen again in the future.

Let us know if you notice any other issues at all.

No problem! You can definitely change the marker icon to whatever you want. However, Snazzy Maps is really only for changing the styles of the map so our plugin won’t do this for you.

The plugin you are using to add the map to your page should have options of changing your marker icon. If it doesn’t, you could switch to a plugin that does like WP Google Maps. Or if you are adding the map manually yourself, you could see Google’s documentation for custom markers here.

Hopefully that helps you out! Let me know if you need anything else.

Do you mean the marker icon that you can add to the map or the points of interest icons that Google has on their map?

    Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. I just checked out your link and the map is not loading for me at all. The developer console is reporting that you are using an incorrect Google Maps API key too. You may have to sign up for a new API key here.

    Hi,

I believe I replied to your UserVoice topic a few weeks ago but just so anyone looking at this topic knows:

It looks like Jetpack embeds a Google Map within an IFrame using Google’s Embed API. Unfortunately, Google doesn’t support applying styles to these types of maps. There isn’t anything we can do with them until Google adds support, sorry!

    Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. Do you have a couple examples of event manager plugins that you would like the styles to work with?
