In reply to: [Social] A conflict between Social and the Events Manager plugin.tap tap tap. Is this thing on?
Thanks for the clarification. I’ll see what I can get out of Social for an option.
It’s strange to me that one plugin can affect another one in this way.
Angelo, she used facebook to Book a Ticket. The site allows her to use facebook (or Twitter) to do some kind of pseudo-login so that comments and Social Media mentions thread nicely. Somehow, Events Manager is also allowing people to Book Tickets via facebook….but it’s not requiring them to leave a working email address.
Caimin, if you are asking if we allow Guest Bookings, yes we do. Often, that is the way the person creates their account with us. If I turn that off, will this force them to create a “real” account or will they still be able to use the Mailchimp Social plugin to Book Tickets while logged into facebook or Twitter.
Let me know if there are things you need to see beyond the site itself.
https://austinnokidding.com/events/Thanks!
I don’t mean that I think my site is running slow (or will) because of the plugin.
I just wonder if it at some point, it catches “most” of the bots…and then stops catching so many because there are fewer left to catch…..
I just meant to express that there are a LOT more bots out there than I expected.
Am I right to expect things to slow down as the plugin is there longer?
I did switch the WordPress theme and still had the same problem. ??
…but you still led me to the solution!I am using WP FullCalendar, so when I turned off that plugin, I got the plain calendar again, but with all it’s functionality. When I chose a theme in FullCalendar (for just the calendar itself) and saved that plugin’s options, it fixed the problem I was having.
Thanks for responding…and for the idea that would lead me there.
#facepalm for not thinking to try plugins, first. It’s always a(nother) plugin, right? ??

In reply to: [Events Manager - Calendar, Bookings, Tickets, and more!] Weekend ShadingEngaging WP Full Calendar made a huge difference.
I am /not/ a coder, so I still can’t “merge” some PHP if/then code with CSS to control the background…but at least I know where I’m headed. Time to do some serious-for-me learning about how to create classes and call them.
Thanks for the nudge in the right direction.

In reply to: [Events Manager - Calendar, Bookings, Tickets, and more!] Weekend ShadingThanks…but wouldn’t that just shade the background of the top of all 7 columns? Instead of shading the dates that fall on Saturday and Sunday?
I was hoping it would look more like this:

In reply to: [Events Manager - Calendar, Bookings, Tickets, and more!] Weekend ShadingAngelo,
Thank you. That is a huge help! I can hack through that and make it close to what I want. Since I’m not a programmer, I don’t know how to look for these.
I still can’t, however, find a way to make Mon-Fri one color set and Sat-Sun another.
other ideas?

In reply to: [Social] [Plugin: Social] Twitter OAuth brokenThanks, Alex. I’ll contact the host support for that one. Anyone else using HostGator for their sites that aren’t working?

In reply to: [Social] [Plugin: Social] Twitter OAuth brokenNow that I see it’s potentially a browser issue: I got the same 404 fail using OmniWeb (which always works as well as Chrome/FireFox for me, but is a lot lighter).

In reply to: [Social] [Plugin: Social] Twitter OAuth brokenUpdated three WP sites today to get Twitter Tools working again. Two of the three: fine; worked like a charm. Third one: generates a 404 error on my site when trying to connect Twitter or facebook….EVERY time. I traded back to the 2010/2011 themes and turned off all other plugins and got the same 404 error every time.
(Why do “they” always have to “fix” what isn’t “broken”? le sigh…)
I’m also a full admin for every site and will let you log in and try it for yourself.
(I did these in Google Chrome on a Mac if that matters.)
