In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Adding New Widget ErrorThe most recent update doesn’t fix anything. I received the following email from Jetpack and the suggested plugin worked for me. I disabled the plugin after the update and the problem returned. Re-enabled the plugin and everything’s fine.
“This is most likely related to https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/7598
Would you please see if there’s any improvement under the current version of Jetpack if you add in this plugin? https://github.com/georgestephanis/disable-grunion-editor-view/archive/master.zip
To do that, download it, then upload the .zip file via Plugins > Add New > Upload in your site’s Dashboard.
This will disable the new contact form editor which is likely causing the problem. (the old contact form editor will be used instead)
Once the next version of Jetpack is released, it should be safe to disable this temporary fixer plugin.”

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Adding New Widget ErrorI’m not sure what happened to the “next day or so,” but this is frustrating.
@neelchan – Any word on the bug update? I wish I had the tech savvy to do @dhaffman’s quick fix.Can anyone point me to a link where I can learn how to roll back to the previous version?

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Adding New Widget ErrorSame. If I edit an existing Visual Editor widget (for text or html) no text is visible. If I create a new Visual Edit widget, I can’t type anything.
This is definitely a bug that occurred with the latest update.
@jeherve I just posted today. It still doesn’t work. ??
@sharonminkoff I feel your pain. I’ve been going through the exact same thing for weeks. Deactivating and re-activating, then running the debugger which gives me a thumbs up. The last advice from tech support was to install the beta version, but I’m not willing to risk anything else going wonky.
Hi, @jeherve!
Yes, I’ve been exchanging emails. After exhausting other options, they’re suggesting I try the beta version. I’m nervous, but might give it a go.
Could you provide a link? I’m having nothing but issues with the current version.
It was a firewall issue. Now resolved.
Ditto. I’ve been working with developers and tech support for weeks, and I’m still not able to publicize to my subscribers or Twitter. I’d love to know if the Beta version works for anyone.
FYI, I’m having the exact same problem.
