No, I have rung twice but been redirected straight to Security companies that can “sort” the problem. Would that help, having the URL creating the malware/virus?

Not yet, I need to get my site cleaned and reactivated before I can figure out the security I will use in the future.

Thanks…well, there must be a silver lining somewhere. A newer, bigger, better site awaits.

The result is not pretty…my hosting company have done some digging and can’t find the files on a back up, or anywhere. It looks as though I have an enormous task ahead of me…

I’m not sure how the files were removed, only that they’re missing. The folder where the files are located in is the wp-content/uploads folder, and you’ve got a fair amount of files that are referencing the 2014 folder in that directory, but that doesn’t seem to exist. It’s also not in our backups, which would mean that the files have been missing for a while (at least a week, since that’s our oldest backup at this time) Unfortunately this means that there’s not any direct way I can restore the files to the site, getting it to show the images again.

    Your solutions are brilliant.

    1) Have a root around and find them. Maybe the have been accidentally moved elsewhere. Move them back. it appears there are no images anywhere

    2) Restore them from a backup. You have made backups, right? If not, time to start a new habit. new habit begun as of today.

    3) Ask your web host to restore them. Assuming they made backups and are helpful. luckily they are helpful and I’m contacting them for help now.

Fingers crossed…thank you for your tips and your time. Greatly appreciated.

I think I’m in the right place and I can’t find any images… folders do say 755 except index.php which says 644. Confused…but I’ll keep looking. Very weird as I have not done any work on my website lately….

Hi Jason, I’m in the About page using FTP but it’s taking me a while to navigate as I can only find the code version and I’m looking for a visual option.

I did disable right clicking, yes. Yes it was to stop people downloading images although I realise “screen grab” is pretty efficient and I’m sure there are other ways beyond my comprehension!

Thank you so much for helping – I’m going to try to resolve this this afternoon.
