In reply to: [WP Engine GeoTarget] is it working with cache SystemHi Prince, WPE GeoIP plugin will only work on WP Engine platform, where the caching is already optimized for GeoIP. After activating GeoIP, you have the option for these cache buckets:
Country
,State
&City
. So if you have content specific to each region, then you would enablestate
bucket. Then all regions would cache their GeoIP specific content rendition.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Display Featured Image for Genesis] Multiple featured images – supported?Hi Robin! Hey, I’m using the utility pro theme and I found a way to use built in backstretch functionality to achieve the same below header effect. I’ll send you the link once the customizations are complete so that you can see how I did it. Thanks again for taking the time to reply!

In reply to: [Display Featured Image for Genesis] Multiple featured images – supported?Hi Robin! Thanks for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate it.
Here is an example of what I mean:
I have a large 27 inch monitor, and the featured image is also large in height. So the result is that it covers the entire screen.
If I have the featured image inside of the post, then it looks ok:
It’s still large, but all part of the image is visible (no cropping) and it doesn’t take up the entire screen.
But I like the plugin’s effect and so for that reason I was thinking of having a secondary image that I can assign to the post that has preferred dimensions and content that can be cropped.

Also, and this is a slightly different topic, but it seems like the featured image height does not adapt when the view area is mobile device size. Here is an example of what I mean:
Even thought the viewing area is much less, the featured image height remains the same.
—
Also, and this is a little off tangent, but I would also be interested in having adaptability, so that the there are several featured image dimension versions that load depending on the screen size. That way a mobile device doesn’t need to download an image that can only be viewed on a desktop in its entirety.

Thank you again – I know that this is all volunteer effort, so I’m just sharing my thoughts since you asked about it.

In reply to: Network Roles / Capabilities Managementthanks @ipstenu . I think I was able to cobble something together using Advanced Access Manager and Extended Super Admins plugins. Basically I used Advanced Access Manager to create a community manager role. I then checked the community manager user as a “super admin” and then used Extended Super Admins to limit that role’s capabilities. Seems to work – crossing fingers.

In reply to: WPMU User Registration on Child SitesThanks Ipstenu – I thought of creating a rewrite rule, but it seems like there ought to be a native solution – to keep all network registrations on the parent level.
I’ll probably end up doing just that. Thanks for your input!

In reply to: [Genesis eNews Extended] subdomain multisite auto email subscription setupHi Brandon – thanks for getting back with me.
I’m thinking closer to number 1), but each child site would have its own separate subscription list, and would require no end-user configuration.
So to illustrate the point, here is an example:
Lets say I have the plugin network activated and configured. Then I have user1 register a site called user1.domain.com. I would like for the widget to be preconfigured with all the settings required for this new site to accept email subscriptions. Then – later, when user2 registers user2.domain.com – the website user2.domain.com will also have everything preconfigured, and can start building its own subscription list separate from user1.domain.com.
I hope that clarifies. Let me know if might have any other questions.

In reply to: [BuddyPress Groupblog] Redirect goes to wp-adminHave you checked whether or not the group roles map correctly to the group blog roles?

In reply to: Blogs.dir no longer needed?I think it’s still needed. When you create your first child site I would expect it to be auto generated.

In reply to: [BuddyPlug] Meaning of curation@modemlooper I think there might be something off about the groupblog plugin.
If you checkout the support forum tab for that plugin, you will see my description of the issue and how to replicate it. Basically, the bp-group roles don’t map correctly to the group-blog roles.
Here is the link to the topic:

Please let me know how I can help. I don’t code – at least not yet. But I can test.

In reply to: [BuddyPress Groupblog] Members group roles don't update in the group blogTo add to all of the above, if someone is trying to replicate the issue, here is my setup:
WP: 3.5.1
BP: 1.6.4
WPMU – SubdomainThere doesn’t seem to be a pattern to how the group roles are mapped to blog roles.
If someone has got this working on the latest version of WP and BP – please contact me.
Thanks!

In reply to: [BuddyPress Groupblog] Members group roles don't update in the group blogI’ve been digging around further and here is what I found. Something is definitely off.
So it seems like the user roles are being assigned from the group to the groupblog – however it’s assigning the wrong roles. In short – it seems that the mapping of group roles to the blog roles is completely off.
I have these settings defined in the Group:
Group Administrator: Blog Admin
Group Moderator: Blog Editor
Group Member: Blog ContributorWhen a person becomes a group member, they are assigned the blog contributor role – so far, so good.
When a person is promoted from member to group moderator, their blog role is not promoted, it says at blog contributor. Wrong.
When a person is promoted from group moderator to group administrator, their role changes to blog editor. Wrong.
When a person is demoted from group administrator to group member, their role changes to blog administrator. Also wrong.
So this is what I’ve been able to find out.
I’m using the latest version of wordpress, buddypress, and the groupblog plugin. I have very very few other plugins added – basically testing in my sandbox area.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

In reply to: Buddypress – Subscribe to Child Site's New PostsSomething like a multisite enabled jetpack email subscriber would do the trick. I just want for the users logged into the multisite to not have to enter their email address, but just click on a button to subscribe, and then allow logged out users to enter their email address. Also, if I could somehow put the subscription button into the top admin bar – that would be awesome.
