Haven’t had this issue since my last post. Gorlak, did you recently update the plugin?

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Remove Akismet WidgetWell you have a point Ipstenu, but I’m just perplexed that a plugin that comes packaged with WordPress wouldn’t follow current standards. I don’t think it would be too hard for Akismet to fix the widget or remove it entirely from the plugin as I’ve never seen a website display their anti-spam block.
Good idea maorb, I’ll just add some CSS to my admin.css stylesheet. Not too sure why I didn’t think of that earlier.

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Remove Akismet WidgetYeah I’ve scoured the code on the widget and can’t find anything. I would expect such a widely used WordPress widget to be properly registered. Maybe I’m missing something but I think this is a problem.

In reply to: [XML Sitemap Generator for Google] Google XML Sitemaps DO NOT USEI think the Yoast SEO plugin is a good alternative. I think XML plugin support is getting dropped in the WP community due to sitemaps being included in SEO plugin packages.
Either the last WordPress update turned a good chunk of my pre tagged information into ASCII HTML codes or this plugin caused the problem. I really don’t know to be quite honest, but right now it looks like this plugin may have been the culprit. If somebody has some proof as to what is doing this to people’s WordPress installs, please let us know.

In reply to: quantserve.com includes js in headFigured it out for me, it was Intense Debate. They inject it into pages to track where their comments are. Very annoying, as it should not be on pages where I have comments disabled.

In reply to: [TDO Mini Forms] TDO Mini Forms and Custom post types and taxonomiesI totally agree with you, I just didn’t realize that there were any alternative solutions to TDO Mini Forms. I’m surprised too by how often people expect free plugins to be updated.
O and using Custom Post Types makes life a lot simpler then cleverly using categories. At least its made my life a lot easier and I can do a lot more with each post now. Definitely worth looking into.

In reply to: [TDO Mini Forms] TDO Mini Forms and Custom post types and taxonomiesWell a lot of this discussion boils down to how much time you have. At my company we usually don’t have too much time to custom code products so we use plugins when possible. For us Gravity Forms is better due to constant updates and continued support they provide. If you have the time to custom code the form for yourself though, go for it. My only worry about a do it yourself solution is security and missing something (hackers are frigging brilliant and find the oddest of holes). Especially since these forms are getting plugged right into your database. I know my PHP security quite well, but still it scares me. Rather rely on Gravity Forms to keep things secure.

In reply to: [TDO Mini Forms] TDO Mini Forms and Custom post types and taxonomiesNot too sure (I speak web languages and English only), they respond to all emails in about 24hrs though if you email them.

In reply to: [TDO Mini Forms] TDO Mini Forms and Custom post types and taxonomiesTook a look at it and you have a great find. My big concern as you mentioned is security. It looks like it has the same issue as TDO Mini Forms, mainly being that people can inject PHP shells by feeding false document types. Although I could be wrong, still you can never be too safe.
