In reply to: All shiny and NewI’ve only just seen the comment entry box myself – its now been fixed in Firefox and IE 6 – with a
textarea {
width:350px;
margin:0;
}
In the CSS.
As for the two column side thing – I don’t know why but I’ve been want to do that for some time. One thing I was concerned about though was the link back to the main page which I think is a bit hidden – any ideas about improving its visibility guys?
MaxT I’m not sure I follow – do you mean that the content div is pushed half way down the screen in your browser? if so what browser are you using mate?Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: FTP ClientI was using FTP explorer until recently (moved to Filezilla) – I found that if FTP explorer hit a problem uploading a file it would move to the next file in the queue and not inform you that there had been an error. FTP explorers okay for single files – and i still use it ‘cos it fits on my usb flash memory dongle so i can take it and files with me to other PC’s if necessary
Filezilla is great – although a bit quirky sometimes. CHMOD’ing is a easy,
As for the file queue I’ve not had a problem with it and i find it good to have something like that runningOr a limited number can be found at…

In reply to: WP TemplatesHi Guys
This is just a wee note to say that I have updated all the templates to version 1.02 of wordpress and as far as I can tell they all work fine.
Please remember to change whatever.css in
<style type=”text/css” media=”screen”>
@import url( <?php echo $siteurl; ?>/whatever.css );
</style>
to the name of the css file you are downloading
Sorry its taken so long as I’ve only just got round to upgrading my site to 1.0.2
All the best

In reply to: WP TemplatesFixed Starfield…I think
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: WP TemplatesAlso just realised that the bit at the start of the template (calling blog functions) on the site is the old 0.72 version – changing to the newer 1.02 version will make the templates work in newer versions of wordpress – Although I’ve updated other WP websites I run to 1.02 I still haven’t updated my blog.

In reply to: WP TemplatesJust noticed the thread – thanks for the note about the two css files – Stalin I’ll look into as for Starfield I think when I’ve moved servers I may have uploaded an older version of Starfields CSS – I’ll look into it.
Thanks again

In reply to: New blood needed.Moose, I’ve just read the other thread and I have to say that you shouldn’t bother about that cowardly anonymous w@nker.
If you look back over the time you’ve been active with your tutorials, help on the forums and in the documentation – you have helped lots of US get up and running.
This is not the time to take down your tutorials this is the time to procalim them loudly from the highest mountain…you and your tutorials have helped many and its time for you to feel proud
On the cowards comments about them breaking in Firefox when you make the screen size small – I’ve not seen the site so can’t comment on the css but lets be honest – everyone using a browser with CSS support will be on a machine that is at least 800*600 (who in their right mind would upgrade their system so they could use the latest browser and still use 640*480 … it makes no sense) – those on 640*480 either use early versions of netsacpe/ie or lynx and its easy enough to parse the CSS so that they won’t see it and the site degrades nicely. But something tells me they (640*480 users) are used to seeing sites not render properly…
In other words remember who your audience is; the people looking at your css tips aren’t people using lynx, or who have yet to upgrade from Netscape 4.01

SQL/DB Error:
[La table ‘chris_test.b2options’ n’existe pas]
SELECT option_name, option_value FROM b2options
then if I just click through the steps The script then makes b2options (it appears in the mysql db) and fill it with data but when I go to the blog I get the same eror I was seeing with the CVS versions…
SQL/DB Error:
[Manque de mémoire. Redémarrez le démon et ré-essayez (65500 octets nécessaires)]
SELECT DISTINCT * FROM b2posts WHERE 1=1 AND post_date <= ‘2004-01-03 15:43:42’ AND (post_status = “publish”) ORDER BY post_date DESC LIMIT 20
IE out of memory – it can still access the DB as it lists my links but it allegedly can’t see any of the 40ish posts in my blog

Basically I’m moving server as soon as my current host pulls its finger out (NEVER USE BARGAINHOST.co.uk…..possibly the worst host in the world…ever…) changes my IPS tags…and when I do move I thought it’d be nice to move up to a nice shiny new version of WP – my current version is so full of crap its unbelievable – being an upgrade of an upgrade of an upgrade its ended up with lots of useless old files floating about – but I can’t separate the wheat from the chaff ?? …. silly christopher
