I’m having a terrible time trying to get WordPress up and running.

I am on a Mac, OS10.6.6. I downloaded WordPress & put all the files into a folder in my local root folder, which I named WORDPRESS.

The install.php file didn’t work. When I try to launch the wp-config-sample.php, it brings it up in DreamWeaver, but says: “Dynamically-related files for this document may have changed and should be re-discovered by the server.”

I tried loading the WORDPRESS folder to my website, in the http area. I then tried running install.php from the web, but get an error message: “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/’myusername’/public_html/kenwestphal.com/WORDPRESS/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2166”

    I’m baffled.
