Ok, it was WP-Sticky that I had used, and it is built on Owen’s original work. I was using it wrong and now I’m golden. Thanks to both of you!

The date I used was the current date and time, but when I changed it back to the original date it showed up again. So I’m not sure what’s going on there. I can’t find a download for Owen Winkler’s plugin (I found red alt, but no download link). I had some sticky plugin installed the other day and it didn’t do what I thought it was going to do. At least I got my post back on the blog.

Right, sorry about that. Evidently I’m the Village Idiot ??

Obviously, I would never have figured that solution out in a million years! Thanks you very, very much!!

This is extremely strange. I removed the offending code and everything works as before (if you wanted to try another test post that would be great). What is really strange is that I have used this theme for several months with no problems. I recently had to reinstall everything, but I still can’t figure out how that would change that file. What is the most secure permissions I can set for that file without “breaking” its function?

Ok, the permissions are correct, but (and I’m sorry about this), I’m not sure where the extra stuff is at that you suggested for me to remove. What file is that in? Could that stuff have gotten written to the file in question by a past plugin I might have tried or something like that?

The file …/chewy-10/comments-ajax.php does not exist on my server.

I changed the permissions. I appreciate your response. I don’t really know anything abut mod_security, but as long as the .htaccess fix works I can live with that.

I read that it was a problem on the end of the host, but I thought it was because of something the WordPress developers changed. Your answer is very succinct and clears this up to my satisfaction…thanks!

The current website is all html (maybe some js, dhtml, etc). The site is hosted on PowWeb I believe. Will I need to contact them about defaulting to html instead of php or will that be something I can do myself? At any rate, thanks for the quick response. My guess is that it won’t be a problem.
