@gsh2000 Considering you tried deactivating all other plugins, and reinstalling Jetpack it’s probably going to be either something with the SSL or php.ini configuration. Are you using a CDN? I was having the same trouble with curl error 28 once I got passed the other errors due to conflicting plugins (like WP All Export and iThemes security). It may be php.ini config – I listed out the changes I made to it and eventually got it (it was Host Gator by the way). https://www.gordowebdesign.com/wordpress-troubleshooting-jetpack-failed-connection-curl-error-28-operation-timed-out-after-1000-milliseconds-with-0-bytes-received-solved/ maybe they will help you.
@paulokenobi I was having the same error (curl error 28) and then other ones once I fixed it. Did you disable other plugins? There are a list of known plugins that will conflict with Jetpack. Did you try to deactivate, uninstall, then reinstall the plugin? I wrote an article about my troubleshooting steps with this error (and others) and maybe it will be of some help to you. https://www.gordowebdesign.com/wordpress-troubleshooting-jetpack-failed-connection-curl-error-28-operation-timed-out-after-1000-milliseconds-with-0-bytes-received-solved/
It could be php.ini configuration problems on the host if you already ruled out the plugins. Where are you hosting the site? Also, what was the exact error you received?
I wrote an article going through the troubleshooting steps of some of the errors I received when trying to install Jetpack myself. Maybe it will be of use to you: https://www.gordowebdesign.com/wordpress-troubleshooting-jetpack-failed-connection-curl-error-28-operation-timed-out-after-1000-milliseconds-with-0-bytes-received-solved/

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] cURL error 28There are multiple plugins that will conflict with Jetpack installation/connection. A deactivate/uninstall of the plugin has helped some people as well. I was having this problem (cURL error 28) and also (HTTP [403]) and wrote an article about all of the troubleshooting steps and the eventual step that solved it – https://www.gordowebdesign.com/wordpress-troubleshooting-jetpack-failed-connection-curl-error-28-operation-timed-out-after-1000-milliseconds-with-0-bytes-received-solved/ . There’s a chance, depending on your host, it may be php.ini configuration as well.
