I removed 4.2.4 and replaced with with 4.2.3 and it works perfectly. Still no word from support though. Disappointing.

I’ve used this plugin many times with no issues. I downloaded it today for another site and this happened. The only thing I can think of that’s different is today’s download. I’ve also tried it with both jpg and png and both disappear on save.

This is still not working for me. And you are correct, I am not using the block editor. I am using Divi Builder.

Here is what I’ve done: In the Featured Projects page, I have added the first block of code from your latest reply. So if you go to the page, Featured Projects – HMB Professional Engineers (flywheelsites.com), you will see the embedded table with the new shortcode.

Then I went to one of the pages where I want to add the link to the filtered table and I added a button with the second line of code (the URL) you provided as the link. But when I click on that button, it repeatedly takes me to a “Page Not Found.”

(FYI, as a test, I also tried replacing the portion of the URL:

“/?projects=Highway“

with this string: “data-filterterm-Highway”

and it DID lead to the desired Featured Projects page rather than the 404 error, but it did NOT appear to filter the results. So I changed the URL back to “projects”. Also, since “Highway” is a term that appears in all the rows, I tried replacing “Highway” with “HSIP,” which appears in only one of the rows, and it did not filter the results in that case either.)

You can see this by visiting Highway – HMB Professional Engineers (flywheelsites.com), where you’ll see a button at the bottom of the page referring to See Our Featured Highway Projects.”

Also, just FYI, I logged in to my Pro account and cannot find anywhere there an address or a link to an “about” screen so I can email you directly for support. Sorry, but I am not seeing it. Here is a screenshot of what I do see: https://app.screencast.com/hToGnNax6uE5W

Hey Tobias. I’m sorry to bother you again. I have purchased the premium/pro plugin and am attempting to configure the filtering. I have activated the Automatic Filtering module, and have gone back to edit the table, per the Usage instructions on this page: Automatic Filter – TablePress

However, I am not seeing anything that allows me to activate and configure the feature in that edit screen. What am I missing? I feel like the documentation on that page isn’t very clear and there is nothing on the edit screen called “Automatic Filtering” that would lead me to think that’s where I would configure this.

My assumption is that I should be able to generate a URL for each category (the buttons) that would filter the results when clicked. Ideally, I would add this URL to a different page for each category. To be clear, the different page is an overview of the service provided. The URL/link would lead to the filtered table showing only those categories that apply to the content of the other page. First, the table is working great – the client loves it!

However, they have a couple of new questions:

1. Is there a way I can include a link on another page that leads back to the filtered results for a particular category? In other words, the same filtered results that appear when one clicks on any of the buttons. (I have added a button to one of the pages (Environmental – HMB Professional Engineers (flywheelsites.com)), but it is not linking to the filtered results.

2) Is there a way to make the images in my table open in a lightbox?

Tobias, thank you. That seems to have worked. One comment and two additional questions for you please.

Comment: I don’t think the second bullet you sent is anywhere in the setup guide for the plugin. If it is, I missed it. It would be beneficial if it were included on the plugin page.

Question1: Is it possible to add one more button, “All” that clears the filter and shows all rows of the table like it does upon initial page load?

2: Is there a way to style the buttons (colors, etc.?).

Finally, you said we could remove the search box once we get the buttons working by adding CSS. I sort of like the search box, but my client probably will want to remove it. Can you provide that code?

I assume the portions in quotes after “data-filterterm=” need to appear somewhere in the table for the rows that pertain to those filterterms. What I don’t know is how to do that. (To be clear, for this example, in the first to lines of html, I assume the terms “Construction-Inspection” and “Environmental” each need to be included in their respective rows (in the table) that pertain to that category. Am I wrong?

Can you clarify how I connect the button to the row? (Currently the buttons are not doing anything. You can see the page here: Featured Projects B – HMB Professional Engineers (flywheelsites.com)

Hi Tobias. it looks like the DataTables Button Filtering extension will meet my needs.

However, in the instructions for it, it says in part, “You will need to adjust the table ID (123?in the example) and the value for the?data-filterterm?attribute.” {Emphasis mine}

Can you tell me where I can adjust the value for the data-filerterm attribute? I did a search for it in the knowledgebase and it just referred me back to the extension page. I found no instructions for doing this.
