Just tried again, but no joy. Now the error is generated from elsewhere:

The issue seems to be the “AddToAny” plugin for social shares. When removed it it worked (but I cannot get the jetpack buttons to wark at all…)

I have uploaded the IP address list as it seems easier and saves me from having to load another plugin (for now at least).
I’ll leave it for a few days and see what happens.

Hhhmmm… not sure. No. 1 seems easier to accomplish. I am sure you know better than I do what the best solution is.
I take it that you haven’t seen that before? I wonder what they are up to.

The regex feature has always been on and, no, the word is not always the same.

I have deactivated it for now. At the very least I need to sort out my pop up and subscribe form.
I have written to the Yikes guys, but they haven’t replied yet. The mail chimp native pop up is not great. On mobile it gives you a grey pop up that says “click here for the newsletter” or such like… bleah. Considering that 90% of all traffic is through mobile devices that is a bit of a poor effort.

Let’s say that Google does neither you nor themselves any favour by saying “hey guys, why don’y you give AMP a try?” like it is just a switch you turn on and off.

Anyway, I’ll try the mailchimp popup again. Let’s see if it is any good.

Considering that Google advises me to get this plugin you would have thought that they would give you basic information like the one you are providing me here, but here we go.
I have connected adsense to SiteKit, so let’s see how that goes.
Regarding the newsletter, I am a mailchimp user, but last time I checked their pop up was quite poor (or perhaps not existent?). That was a few years ago, but I have just renewed my plugin… ??
Anyway, I am using Easy Forms for MailChimp by Yikes.

The main takeaway for me is that everything is VERY complicated. Not sure what kind of users this is intended for, but considering that I am not entirely clueless (but I am NOT a web developer), I find all this daunting in the etreme.

Chances of getting a (meaningful) reply from Amazon I fear are less than nil…
