Hello, I am a WordPress enthusiast and heavy user. I weighed these same points and then went to Tri.Be’s solution. First tried their free Events Calendar, liked it, so bought the premium one. Also bought Facebook Events Importer and Community Events to let my users submit their own events.
The reason I am now about to purchase WooTickets is, with EventBrite, you are dependent upon them for the actual purchase and transaction. But with WooTickets from these guys, you can run your VERY OWN EventBrite clone in no time.
My action points for my website called EduFester.com are these:
1. Purchase WooTickets.
2. Set it up using their user video tutorials.
3. Probably talk to Rob, their friendly QA & Support person to find out any nice features that I should pay attention to.
4. Setup my Payment Gateway
5. Start selling tickets for educational events in India.
I have bought stuff off CodeCanyon and other indie developers for events before after thorough review. I have to say, tri.be guys are awesome.
