  • Hello,

yes, all these are possible with AllWebMenus.

    1. AllWebMenus supports multiple menus, you can use as many menus on the same blog as you like. You just need to create 3 separate AllWebMenus projects, one for each of your menus. Then, you specify that you have 3 menus by adding 2 extra menus in the “Settings” page of the Plugin. Each one will refer to a different menu project.

    2. Concerning your question about the menu items, the 3rd menu should use the “Static” population method while the other 2 menus should use the “Dynamic” one. If you are not aware of what these methods are please read below:

The WordPress plugin supports 3 menu population methods:

    – “Dynamic” population: The menu is populated with items dynamically (online), based on a WordPress menu. The AllWebMenus project is used to provide only the styling/behaviors of the menu; not its items.

    – “Static” population: The menu is populated with items edited within AllWebMenus only. Any changes to your online website do not affect your menu items. So, AllWebMenus provides both the structure and the styling/behaviors of the menu.

    – “Mixed” population: This is a mix of “Dynamic” and “Static”. The menu is populated both with items edited within AllWebMenus and with items created online (through a WordPress menu).

    3. For “sliding” submenus, you can choose the “Sliding” option at the related “Type” property of the AllWebMenus project and you will have a “sliding menu”. The same applies for the “vertical” or “horizontal” type.

    Hello Mike,

We are not really sure how this widget is setup, but we can say that our plugin has the following option:
“Show all Categories except the following…”.

Would that be of help to you?

Is it possible to contact us at our support email (please find it at https://www.likno.com with some screenshots of the widget options/results/etc. so that we can better understand the requirement?

    Thank you.

    Best Regards,

Greetings to ALL by the LIKNO SOFTWARE SUPPORT TEAM.

The problem described by the user “EREMITICLIFE / SCARLETCARNIVAL” (same user) at the 2 posts above was related to the new WordPress version (3.2), which introduced some changes to the “folder permissions”. These changes are now handled successfully since version 1.1.11 of our WordPress plugin, so there are absolutely no problems with using our plugin in WordPress.

In particular to this case, the user had also setup WordPress to block the uploading of “ZIP” files, so our ZIP file could not be uploaded and an error was occurring. This is now also handled with version 1.1.12 of our WordPress plugin.

We want to thank the user “EREMITICLIFE / SCARLETCARNIVAL” for re-posting after we supported his case. It was very good that he had also emailed us about the problem so we had the chance to look at his problem, communicate with him and be able to solve the particular issues he was facing in a fast manner.

As the user mentions at his re-post (as “SCARLETCARNIVAL”), the problem has been solved and in an “on-the-fly” manner (we literally did a remote viewing session in order to discover the problem and fix it ASAP).

We just want to reassure all users that we are always here to help and solve any issues you may encounter due to particular configurations (that we may have missed in our testing).

    Thank you!

    OK, thanks for the reply.

I misunderstood what you told me in your previous post about WordPress not passing the parameters to your plugin.

It would be great if you can do this independently within your plugin in the next version, as mentioned by you.

I have also sent you a small donation by PayPal, mostly for your kindness to reply fast and consider this addition (while not obliged to do so).

    Thanks.

    @msaari:

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I tried the “cats=xx,yy” method, but this does not work because the goal is to find posts that exist in BOTH categories (XX && YY) at the same time, not all posts of category XX and all posts of category YY.

The default WordPress search allowed us to achieve this through this technique:

Couldn’t relevanssi “respect” this *existing* feature of WordPress, through an addition to its code?

    Thank you again.

    Hello lelanda,

Your comment about “PC” is 100% valid, as we do state in the description that our Plugin is not a stand-alone one but functions along with our AllWebMenus (Win) application: “Required software: AllWebMenus PRO”

Just allow me to disagree with the TITLE of your comment about “waste of time”. We have many WordPress users that use AllWebMenus and this Plugin and they are very pleased with the menus they get and the support we provide to them. Even when we have a bug and they tell us about it, we immediately fix it and improve both the plugin and the AllWebMenus application. It has not been a “waste of time” to them. Maybe we need to make it more clear that the plugin is not a “stand-alone” one but requires a paid Win application (AllWebMenus) to work with.

FYI, a new AllWebMenus “WordPress Menu” plugin has just been released.

Version 1.0.20 of the plugin now supports the new WordPress 3+ feature of “Menus”.

You can use the “menu structure” of your own WordPress “Menus” (version 3+ only) on AllWebMenus themes automatically (dynamically) and show nice-looking menus on your blogs.

    Hello Mitcho and all,

We just released a new version of the AllWebMenus “WordPress Menu” plugin that resolves any conflicts with the YARPP plugin.

Version 1.0.17 of the AllWebMenus plugin offers the following:

    – Easier interface.

    – Multiple menus (use up to 5 different menus on your posts or pages), with separate settings per drop-down menu.

    – New option: “Dynamic” Menu Type (AllWebMenus provides the menu style while all items are populated based on blog’s content).

    – New option: “Static” Menu Type (both menu style and content are provided by AllWebMenus, allowing full customization of the menu).

    – New option: “Mixed” Menu Type (combines both the “Dynamic” and “Static” Menu Types in a single implementation – you can have both WordPress and non-WordPress items on your menu!).

    – Integration with the latest “Related Posts” (YARPP) plugin. It dynamically adds a “Related Posts” item at the end of the Main Menu, with a submenu that contains posts related to the post you are currently viewing!

The last item means that we do not include the YARPP plugin inside the AllWebMenus plugin anymore so that no conflicts arise. But we do have a link to Mitcho’s plugin so that the user can install the latest YARPP separately and use its content inside the menus. This works great and without any problems. And our users get to know Mitcho’s plugin, as the YARPP option is very prominent at the end of the plugin.

The new AllWebMenus “WordPress Menu” plugin can be downloaded from here:
