The MaxGalleria scripts and CSS definitely aren’t loaded on that page. What version are you using and what other plugins do you have? Can you post the info from the Galleries > Support page?

MaxGalleria has an option to select “portrait” or “landscape”. I don’t know if the regular WP gallery has something similar.

I did some more digging and found that the following error occurs when trying to download a new or existing image to your site:

“failure when receiving data from the peer”

After some searching I found that other WordPress users have seen this and it seems related to a setting or change with their web host, some of which discovered it’s because loopbacks had been disabled.

Relay this information and error message to your web host and see what they say.

I see where it’s failing, just not sure why yet.

Ah, I see. So for that it depends on the element that contains the gallery itself. For instance, you could have something like this:

<div style="padding: 50px;">
    [maxgallery id="1"]
</div>

That would put 50px of padding around the gallery.

Can you verify with your webhost that your website has write permissions on the wp-content directory?

The gallery, image sizes, and gap size are meant to fill the space of its containing element, which is due to its responsiveness. Because of this, the only way to can increase the gap between the images is to edit the CSS of the skin you are using. But beware, doing so can have undesired consequences for the gallery responsiveness.

Yes, the “Thumbnail Custom Rel Attribute” places your string into the thumbnail rel property.

Thanks for the info, we’ll take this into consideration for a future release. In the meantime, it might also be worth contacting AlloyPhoto about creating a plugin for MaxGalleria, just like they did for NextGEN.
