thanks. the first solution worked. All in one adsense was causing the problem. In this case, I deactivated the plugin. What should I do if I still want the plugin to be active but that causes the problem?

got it.. digg digg plugin caused the problem. Many encountered issues with this plugin when upgraded version comes in. the pages go blank even if we do not update the plugin. I had to update the plugin to get my pages back. While updating, i lost all my likes in facebook.

i tried changing the permalink for one post. I thought this might have caused the error. So, tried changing to default and saved it again to my custom structure. I deleted the relevant post also. But nothing worked.
