In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast 22.0 – blog category 404 Issue@tmora – I did manage to solve the issue but Yoast decided that the functionality was “intended” not a bug so they didn’t change their code.
See here for all the details: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/21164
My fix required adding some code to the functions.php file. Email me at [email protected] if you would like to see the code I used – I’d rather not put it here because its for our very specific requirements.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Category URLs, Canonical and sitemap don’t matchOkay – I have created the GitHub bug report: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/13827
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Category URLs, Canonical and sitemap don’t matchHi,
This is a little more of an issue than I thought.
I copied to a dev site (https://genroe2019.wpengine.com) and deactivated all plugins except Yoast.
Note
(a) Permalinks set to: /blog/%postname%/%post_id%
(b) Yoast “Category URLs: Remove the categories prefix” is set to Remove. Here is the category site map for the dev site: https://genroe2019.wpengine.com/category-sitemap.xml
Sample URLs and outcomes (from the category-sitemap.xml):
(1) https://genroe2019.wpengine.com/blog/customer-feedback
NO Advance / Canonical URL set in the Category settings.
Outcomes
– URL is incorrect: should not have /blog/ in it
– URL redirects (somewhere) to the correct URL: https://genroe2019.wpengine.com/customer-feedback
– Canonical on correct URL is incorrect: https://genroe2019.wpengine.com/blog/customer-feedback(2) https://genroe2019.wpengine.com/blog/b2b-marketing/content-marketing
NO Advance / Canonical URL set in the Category settings.
Outcomes:
– URL incorrect: should not have /blog/ in it
– URL gets re-directed to a specific page rather than the sub-category archive page?: https://genroe2019.wpengine.com/blog/content-marketing-tips/12608
– Because it doesn’t go to the sub-Category page I can’t check the Canonical URL(3) https://genroe2019.wpengine.com/b2b-marketing/ab-testing
This HAS Advance / Canonical URL set in the Category settings.
Outcomes
– Link goes to category list as expected.
– Canonical is correctRegards,

In reply to: [Strong Testimonials] Can’t get testimonials horizontalChris,
Thanks for working through all of that. I’ll keep working through it this end to see if we can find this issue. I’ll post back here if I think it would help with the product (and isn’t just something unique to us.)

In reply to: [Strong Testimonials] Can’t get testimonials horizontalChris,
Still working this. Created a staging version of the site and deactivated all plugins.
Problem still remains: https://genroestaging.wpengine.com/sample-testimonial
Not sure where to from here. I’m conscious that this is a free plugin and of using your time.
I guess I could give you an admin login to the staging site if that would help.

In reply to: [Strong Testimonials] Can’t get testimonials horizontalChris,
Thanks for getting back to me. Tried:
– Delete and reinstall
– Compatibility tab, “Ajax Page Loading” to General.
– Compatibility tab, set “Load Event” to window load.
– Tried the above singly and combined. No change. Also tried re-deleting WP Engine cache.
Can’t see any JavaScript errors in the console.
Suggestions?
Thanks.
Adam

In reply to: [Strong Testimonials] Can’t get testimonials horizontalHi guys,
Thanks for the feedback. I tried without AO (https://www.genroe.com/sample-testimonial?ao_noptimize=1) but no change – still shows incorrectly.
(I had also cleared the AO cache as a trial before I raised this case)
Any other ideas?
Thanks.

In reply to: [WP Shortcodes Plugin — Shortcodes Ultimate] Support for Php 7.0Joe,
Thanks for letting me know about the fix – nice investigation.
If I understand you the old code would work with PHP7 as well. The problem is with the compatibility scanner.
I’m comfortable making the change but my concern was that the fix will break with the next of the plugin update — but if both work under PHP7 the it doesn’t matter.

In reply to: [Shortcodes Pro] WordPress 4.0 Theme Shortcodes Pro IssueWe’ll second this.
We upgraded to 4.0 and all of the content on our pages disappeared. After deactivation of this plugin it all came back.
There is a problem with this plugin and 4.0
Regards,
Adam RamshawJeremy, okay thanks I have done that now.
