Hi! Does the plugin appear to be working at all? i.e. are the custom excerpt lengths and other features working?

Just to confirm, have you tried something like this:

the_advanced_excerpt( 'exclude_tags=img' );

You wouldn’t happen to have a live staging/development server that I can log into for further troubleshooting would you?

Once downloaded and installed, the version number should be 4.2.2.

Hi Guys, sorry for the hiccups.

No one has provided me access to their environments so I haven’t been able to debug this problem in a live environment.

I believe I was able to replicate the problem in my development environment though.

As such, I’ve just released version 4.2.1 of the plugin. This will hopefully fix the problems you’ve been having.

Is anyone able to upgrade and let me know if the problem is solved?

I would get you to try what the others have suggested and report back with your findings.

Though next time I would encourage you to open a support ticket for your problem rather than leaving a negative review as it’s most likely a problem that we can work through and solve for you.

An upcoming version of the plugin fixes this exact problem, be on the look out for that release (coming soon).

Just to let you know, in the next version of the plugin we will actually provide a method of disabling Advanced Excerpt for certain areas of your website, e.g. disabling Advanced Excerpt specifically for search but allowing it run normally for the front page / archives / etc.

For your case specifically this means that you can have Relevanssi handle the excerpts for search pages while Advanced Excerpt handles the excerpts for the other pages / archives.
