In case anyone is googling, the issue was a setting in wpengine that had mismatched http/https.

We checked for an update when we noticed the bug 7/27/17, and the theme we downloaded from the above link was version 1.0.11, same as what we had installed. Changelog from that version ends at Oct 29 2015. I just downloaded another copy today and that version is 1.1.0 and Changelog has all kinds of 2016/2017 entries. Looks like functions.php was updated with a breadcrumbs fix Aug 31, 2017. Maybe someone saw our earlier posts!

Is it any different with the trailing slash?

any bad characters in your old postnames that might break a link? (apostrophes, etc)

Hi guys! We are having a similar problem with self-hosted Big Brother theme… on category pages everything below breadcrumb is missing. I think it is issue with breadcrumb… Your site looks fine now blijdorper, what did you do to fix it?

“Do not apply content filters” that when checked stops the media player being inserted into the widget.

Is there anything to be done for the media URL showing up in excerpts as plain text? I can instruct our authors to make custom excerpts, but if I can make this as simple as possible the better.

While we’re chatting, would also be great if the “Media URL” text field was a link to the media library or chance to upload a mp3.

It’s not the theme, as the problem persists when I switch to 2014. I did try the “try to fix” settings with no result.

Our podcast is only being published on one category… if we can avoid hacking the theme, the better.

What worked is checking the widget setting as described in this thread “The checkbox is only for dealing with other plugins that push content to everywhere it can instead of first checking if it is a post or page. In an ideal situation it is never used.”

I hacked some css to hide the player in the widget, but am concerned there may be other repercussions/incompatibilities. Anyone else have similar experience?

are you using the custom post type or the basic regular post?

Also have similar question. Searching for “John Smith” brings up articles by John Q Smith, but searching for “John Q. Smith” does not.

Sounds like the theme did not have the proper support built in.
