So it seems crucial then that I make a child theme before I go on with editing the site.

Look at the date of the files? I’m a bit confused. What I did just now was I made a copy of my database on my harddrive, just downloaded everything that’s up there right now with an FTP client, so it’s all saved if it goes straight to the hot place.

Is there any other solution or do I have to learn how to use Examdiff? A detailed instruction on this new software would be greatly appriciated.

Hi peredur, thank you for responding so quickly.

I see one problem with making the child theme and that is I don’t remember exactly what lines I’ve edited or in what files. Is this possible to fix somehow? I didn’t know / read about child themes until I had come a long way in editing the theme itself. I really don’t wanna upload the theme itself again and remake all the changes as it’s crucial that the site is up and running as it is now. Would it be devastating for this site to not be on a child theme basis?

It seems I’m in quite the pickle.
