That even if you change he author the user that created the post will always be the Author.
Using coauthors plugin, if you check the Author it seems it has changed but id you disable the plugin you will se how the Author didnt change.
The same problem that the one at the beginning of the tareas.

we are having the same problem again.

The point is that you can just “really” change the author when double clicking on the name when you are “administrator” but not when you are “editor” so it makes no sense.

Actually, editors are the ones supposed to modify and manage content in wordpress.

Could you please have a look at this??

Beyond “roles”, it would also be nice if assigning a post to another author were easier but at least please try to fix this issue for “editors”.

I checked your link and same thing happens when replicating that process.

My CPT is generated by another plugin and no, I havent delete the draft status.
In fact, I just realised that if I create a simple post I cannot choose any post status but if I disable the plugin I can.

Ok, I got it.

What we have to do is to double clic on the original author and change to the new one.

I didnt know we could do this so what I did was not to double clic but to add a new one so we have two. And then clic on “remove” the original one.

It is not out of the box. Co-Authors Plus is replacing WordPress author select from post edit screen and its natural behaviour.

Do it yourself. Create a post. Add an author. Remove the first author (the creator of the post). Publish.

You will see how the creator is still in wordpress database.

Then deactivate your plugin. Edit the post again and you will see how the original creator is the one appearing in the edit screen.

It is not related at all with other plugins or custom code.

Your plugin is not removing the first creator of a post if you change authors afterwards.

Your plugin creates a custom taxonomy called “author” that is the same than “author” archive used by wordpress so there is some kind of conflict and collide with these pages.

Same problem here with the same plugins.
Suggestions?
