Same problem here. My ISP has told me they have disabled the conflicting rules (‘214940’ and ‘214620’), however login problems keep going. Only disabling mod_security on Cpanel fixes it.

It seems clear there’s a conflict between Mod_Security and WP 4.4.1. If Mod_Security is on, WP fails at login (404 error), but if it is off, WP works as expected.

1 Switching to the default theme (2016) didn’t work.
2 A manual upgrade didn’t fix it neither
3 The only thing that worked was to downgrade to 4.3.2 (and that’s not a real solution)

Thanks for your answer. I managed to translate ‘Continue reading’ by changing these lines in functions.php:

However, I think your solution is better.
By the way, I’ve completed the Spanish translation on Glotpress (some strings were missing, for example, ‘next post‘ or ‘previous post‘).
