I found the answer. In the Writing Settings, I had to enable the Atom Publishing Protocol under Remote Publishing. (The feed is valid).

In reply to: Event Calendar plugin puts posts in Uncategorized categoryThanks for this post. I just had to do the same thing. I didn’t even realize this plugin was active on my site until I upgraded WordPress.

In reply to: automatically import new posts from bloggerUse the Autoblog plugin. It will take posts from any
RSS feed you designate and create posts or drafts in the desired categories. Cost around $40. https://www.autoblogged.comForum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Revolution header silly problemI’m not an expert but my first thought is that when deleting something else, you may have missed that little piece of tag – or when adding something you may have added and extra closing tag.
I am also an average user. Here is how I did it. So follow my example at your own risk. I may have taken steps that were unnecessary or risky. And I may have totally screwed up and just don’t know it yet! (but I was able to add my new post and edit my other one so right now I don’t care).
- I deactivated all the plugins
- Using my web host cpanel, I accessed the Myphpadmin tool.
- I selected my wordpress database from the left column
- I clicked “wp-options” from the left pane
- In the right pane, I selected the Browse action for “option_name”
- From the top of the left pane, I clicked the little SQL button that opened the query window.
- I pasted the SELECT… query string indicated above and then clicked go
- In the new screen that opened, I clicked to edit the active plugins option
- I copied what was there in a txt document just in case. And then I deleted what was there (should only be the malicious plugin if you deactivated the others).
- At the bottom of the page, I saved the change.
I could not however, find the malicious plugin. I searched the indicated directory, plus I searched all my files.

In reply to: Suddenly getting database error when posting and savingOk, I guess I am being blessed by the WordPress Gods. The problem has disappeared.
Because of what happened with the unselected categories, I double-checked my default post setting because nothing should have been showing up as Uncategorized. That’s not even on my list of categories. Somehow my chosen default category setting had been “unselected.”
I change the default post setting back to the way I had it. That seem to have worked.

In reply to: Suddenly getting database error when posting and savingI did add several plugins although I don’t remember in exactly what order. I tried deactivating them. I did edit some php files but did not notice problems before. I put back the original pluggable file (I hadn’t touched the wp-db.php file) but that didn’t change anything.
I don’t really understand what the database error is telling me — I’m just poking around with this.
One thing I did learn was that when it comes to adding a post–I only get the error if I forget to select a category. Since I had not made that mistake previously, now I’m not sure how long I’ve had the problem. But I also discovered today that even though that clears the problem with the post, I still get that same error message when I upload a file (although it gets uploaded anyway and I can add it once I reload the post.)
Not sure what to do next.

In reply to: extra customization for Customizable Post Listings pluginStupid Me! Add the image tag to the excerpt. Then Customizable Post Listings plugin will show the image. Problem solved!

In reply to: extra customization for Customizable Post Listings pluginThank you. I installed it but no image is showing. I put the tag <?php get_post_icon(); ?> in. Is there someplace special it is supposed to go. I don’t know how to get it to interact with the Customizable Post Listings plugin.

In reply to: Minima Plus Sidebar not displaying after upgrade to WP 2.0I fixed my sidebar problem (it did not natually disappear before). The problem was I still had some code in the comments.php file that referred to the Spelling Checker plugin which I deactivated and doesn’t work with 2.0 anyway. Perhaps the problem you’re having is also related to something missing or not quite right with your comments page template.
Ilione, thanks for the heads up on Firefox–I was unaware of that.
