thanks kafkaesqui for your help…. but, it seems that plain old html does the trick. you just have an html link back to the permalink of the post and that should do the trick.

Actually, I only want to post a link to the post ( just as with Customizable post listings plugin). I think that’s where we’re running into trouble. Your plugin does not seem able to do that.

Ok, cool, thanks. I placed the get post function where the customizable post listings function is so where it appears on the blog should be alright. I tried putting in a number of a post but that doesn’t work. I’ll try a few other things …

How would you set up it up so it appears like the Customizable Post Listings — on the right-hand side of the blog. Would you have to mess around with the html or css?

Forget about it podz… thanks for your help… For future reference for other people, I just did a search for “home” through phpmyadmin and choose the second selection… I then altered the value from https://www.mysite.com/wordpress/index.php to just https://www.mysite.com/wordpress and now wordpress works fine. Phew!

Unfortunately, that does not work. I have php My Admin and went to browse the wp_options section and found the site-url field. But, it was already set appropriately (e.g. mysitename.com/wordpress). I tried adding a forward slash but that did not make a difference.
The problem still persists. If you click on the categories on the right-hand side of the template, it will take you to mysitename.com/wordpress/index.php/index.php?cat=1 (for example). And since of course index.php is there twice, I get an error (which exactly reads: “No input file specified.”). Where in phpmyadmin do you think I can solve this problem?

Is it possible to display posts within a category in a similar manner. I have maybe 100 posts in a category. I would like to display it in a presentable manner (headline … few lines… next link at the bottom).

But, does that not affect all categories? Or does each category have it’s own template?

Thanks skebrown for the info… directory is not currently write-enabled but will change that and give the upload feature a try.
I agree that you should be able to customize the admin interface. I, for one, would like to add a feature to the upload pic which would set a standard size to which all pics would be transformed. of course, there are other ways in which the admin interface could be customized. I just wish I knew how … ??
