Sorry – the above got reformatted in a meaningless way. I will try again, and will not attempt to underline the links:

    Ah! So that’s it.

    Thank you for the illumination.

I reset it and it appears as expected.

I then made it dynamic with the role set to Yes with exceptions for all except Anonymous.

It now works as required. The reset must have cleared some snarl-up of conditions and a fresh start has straightened it out.

    thank you very much!

How do I return the widget to Static?

    Thread Starter Antipole

    (@antipole)

OK – I am back in.

    • Deactivated all plugins by renaming plugins folder via FTP.
    • Logged in
    • Changed name of plugins folder back to plugins
    • AIOWP asked if I wanted to re-establsih re-write rules -> yes
    • Turned off maintenance mode
    • So I am back in business, but not sure about risking maintenance mode again.

I have adapted the html from the example page and am serving it from my DropBox space for easy editing. Yes I can open it in a new window. I can also include the same in an iframe within my WordPress page so I only have the one map page to maintain. I am back in business!

Thanks for your guidance and help – much appreciated. Tony.

    Ross.. thanks for your response.
I have experimented with that. My problem is that as my cruise progresses, I need to update the track every couple of days. At present, I just edit the .kml file in my DropBox folder to include the latest track and everything is taken care of, as and when the often limited Internet connection when afloat allows.

As I understand it, using Google My Maps I would have to go to Google Maps, upload the new .kml file, create a new map and then update my WordPress pages to reference the new map string. This would be a real hassle and take time, especially with a flaky and slow connection.

I believe there is some kind of indirect facility in .kml syntax which allows an ‘include’ file reference, but I imagine that is resolved when the new My Map is uploaded rather than each time the map is accessed.

thanks of your interest – any further wisdom welcomed – Tony

Thanks Christopher – I appreciate your picking this up and fixing.

That’s my difficulty – I don’t know. Plug-ins active on this site are:

    Good Writer Checkify
    Feed Statistics
    Error Log Monitor
    Contact Form 7
    All In One WP Security
    Hide-n-Disable-comment-url-field
    iframe
    Multiple Galleries
    SB Child List
    Simple Tooltips
    Simple Vimeo Shortcode
    Subscribe2
    TablePress

I think it is likely to be one that records stuff about users, rather than just formatting output , e.g. iFrame. I suspect Subscribe2 or All In One WP Security

Any further pointers appreciated – thanks

Hi – sorry for the delay in replying – I am at sea.

I had followed those steps and have checked again that they have been done. I have a management page here and when I go to it when not logged in without parameters it loads OK, inviting me to enter an email address.

If I then give it an email address that has subscriptions, it emails me a link to the same page with parameter sre with the email address and a parameter srk with a key. When I follow that link I end up back at the page as if no parameters.

Any further help appreciated – thanks

Hi… I have got this problem. If someone attempts to manage subscriptions when not logged in, they get asked to fill in their email address and then get sent a link. Following the link gets you to the form to supply your email address again.

    Details:
I have a real management page.
    WP: 3.8.3
Subscribe to Comments Reloaded: Version 140220

Any help much appreciated – thanks

OK – I deactivated at network level and then activated at site level on several sites.

The AIOWPS tables have been created with the correct pre-fix (e.g. wp_12_aiowps_login_activity) and the errors have ceased.

This is a useful work-around. However, as I am sure you will realise, there are some features/settings that are only available at the network level (User Registration for example) and my network level log-in is not protected from a Brute Force attack.

Thank you for your help and support.

    regards, Tony

Could not deactivate at sub-site level as AIOWPS does not show in the list of plugins at sub-site level while it is activated at network level.
I did a deactivate at network level, and the plugin reappeared at sub site level and as not active. I left that unchanged.
I then reactivated at network level.
At sub-site level AIOWPS was available again. I note it had remembered my options from before, so it is not a completely fresh start.
Problem remains – only tables in DB are without prefix and login/logout activity makes requests with pre-fix

I await your further advice, Tony

No – I have not changed the DB pre-fix – had not plucked up courage for that!

Have examined DB with PHPMyAdmin and find one set of aiowps tables without the _12 prefix, i.e.:
    wp_aiowps_failed_login
    wp_aiowps_global_meta
    wp_aiowps_login_activity
    wp_aiowps_login_lockdown

Methinks these tables have been created at the network level but are being sought for at the site level?
NB I have AIOWPS network activated. Could that be wrong? I might have activated it first at site level – cannot be sure – then decided it would be good to have on all sites so activated at network level.

    thanks, Tony
