Me too facing the same problem.
Sometimes it works sometimes not. So am confused.
Any help?

Go and configure it from dashboard>Settings>recent-post-slider and it will start working as per your wish.

– download the latest wordpress
– unzip it on your computer.
– go to your site through FTP
– delete the index.php file
– upload the index.php from your downloaded wordpress.

Can you visit the site on your own computer ?
Check your site on Chrome or Mozilla browser on your own computer.
If it opens everything is okay.
If not, delete everything and have a fresh install of the latest wordpress and then republish everything afresh.
I presume yours is a new site and has manageable contents.
