    Thanks for coming Jam Viet,

    Please forgive my ignorance. I could not understand what you suggested.

    How to change to IP, instead?

    You said “go to host file in windows”, what is the path to the host file?

    And how to configure a name, should I edit that host file?

    I am new to both Linux and WordPress, it would be helpful, if you could please kindly, explain it in detail.

    Thank you

    Regards

    Thanks for coming, Nathan Rodriguez.

    Then how to make it available?

    I don’t know how to add repositories. Could you please help?

    Thanks for your concern.

    Hello everybody,

    I removed everything by the following commands.

    sudo apt-get purge apache2
    sudo apt-get purge php5
    sudo apt-get purge mysql-server
    sudo apt-get clean
    sudo apt-get autoremove

    And then tried to install apache2-mpm-prefork through synaptic, but I got the following error in the image below.

    Hello everybody,

    I tried many measures suggested on the Internet but the issue was not resolved. Now I found a link where it was suggested that one command will install whatever is necessary to install wordpress. The command is as below;

    sudo apt-get install lamp-server^

    So I tried that, But I got the following error.

    ~ $ sudo apt-get install lamp-server^

    Thank you cthomasfr, for coming.

    I did as suggested by you.

    The first link opened the Ubuntu Logo Apache2 Ubuntu Default Page.

    But the second link sent back the following error;

    “Not Found
    The requested URL /wordpress was not found on this server.
    Apache/2.4.18 (Ubuntu) Server at 127.0.0.1 Port 80″

    I did the installation as suggested in the following link,

    https://blogmetric.org/howto-setup-wordpress-locally-on-linux-using-lamp/

    Everything went as suggested till “#3. Setting Up WordPress”, step. As suggested there, I clicked on the link https://localhost/wordpress, but there too I got an error as belows;

    “Not Found
    The requested URL /wordpress was not found on this server.
    Apache/2.4.18 (Ubuntu) Server at localhost Port 80″

    How to resolve this?

    Thank you cthomasfr, for your helping hand.

    Regards

    Hello jricketts4.

    Thanks for coming. And thanks for the link.

    I went through the link. But some of my doubts are not cleared yet.

    Though the link says that by installing locally, there would be an updated back up copy always existing, on my machine. But it is not clear whether,

    That copy on my PC;

    Is it enough and no other backing up is necessary?

    Can it be used to re-create my blog, in case of a disaster, or on a new host, if I happen to change my host in the future?

    Thank you jricketts4, for taking interest to reply.

    Regards
