Hi finnj, Thanks for your concern, This is one of my favorite plugins and very helpful! I just hope this little problem can be resolved ??
Divaete, you have to do it without the plugin and use the FontAwesome element in the CSS, it can be done..
yes me too, I think this is a bug and I hope they fix this in the next update ??

yes, me too… after updated wp core version to 4.3 word count doesn’t work.
yes, please fix this problems on next update, I’ve replaced the code using parent:: _ construct, but error still occurs… no errors found with my other plugins and I am sure the problem exists on the ultimate shortcode plugin… ??
