I found the cause.

If I disable the plugin

Event Calendar 3.2 beta 2
https://wpcal.firetree.net/2009/01/23/version-32beta2/

the error disappear.

I subscribed to that plugin support-mailing list to alert the developers about this.

Unfortunately I discovered that, since the upgrade to 2.8, the described error is happening with any post I try to update/publish.

Any help now would be really appreciated.

unfortunately after many months the conflict between PHPADS and Popularity Contest persists.
If Install the latest version on WordPress 2.02 I keep on getting this error:

Table ‘DATABASE_phpadsnew.wp2cgi_ak_popularity’ doesn’t exist

Did anybody face this problem?

I am running WordPress 2.0.2 on UNIX / Apache / PHP 4.x and the wonderful Popularity-Contest plugin 1.2b

While I got it to work perfectly on

I am having problems on

On the latter I am running PHPADS to manage the advertisement banners shown on the top.

Well it seems like PHPADS open an SQL connection and leave it open since, when is time for the Popularity Contest plugin to run, it sends out this error:

Table ‘phpadsnew.wp2cgi_ak_popularity’ doesn’t exist

Obviusly thje plug-in tries to open the wrong mySQL DB and I presume this happens because PHPADS came earlier, opened its DB and left it open.

I am going to ask for help to the PHPADS support, of course, in the meanwhile, did anybody experience the same issue? Did you fix it?

I found that the function is_404() is not working for me neither. I am using wordpress 2.01 and I am using the function is_404() inside the sidebar.php outside of the loop the esclude the display of Google Adsense on an error page.

But id didn’t work. I had to hard code the sidebar.php and remove the Google Adsense code.

Any hints?

I really like your popularity plug-in but unfortunately I cannot use it since I need to have the WP-CACHE plug-in installed and activated. Do you think you will ever make the popularity plug-in compatible with the WP-CACHE plug-in?
