I’ll check out your links. But what I really want to do is integrate widgets within the page and not in footer or sidebars. I mean say, a recent post widget after the first two paragraphs on the page. Or something like that. . . .

Well, that line comes with your theme. Inorder to remove it or replace it, open your footer.php file and look for the very sentence you want to modify.. . . .
You will find it somewhere near the end.
