In reply to: Frameworks with custom sections (but not Pagelines)?I guess I shouldn’t have assumed that people reading the “Theme and Template” forum would have ever used any of the other paid theme frameworks out there other than PageLines? I apologize for wasting people’s time and posting off topic. Very sorry.
Thanks for your help and insight.

In reply to: Frameworks with custom sections (but not Pagelines)?I just want to know what other frameworks are out there so that I can go to my supervisor and say: “We have these X options for addressing our website looking 18 to 36 months into the future. These are the pros and cons of each. This is how we can approach keeping our site and all functionality compatible with WordPress upgrades in the future.”
I asked my original on www.remarpro.com and not the PageLines support forum because I want to know about options that are alternatives to PageLines new DMS, so if anyone can answer my original question, I would be most appreciative. Which of the other frameworks out there support user generated custom sections?
Thank you for your responses,

In reply to: Frameworks with custom sections (but not Pagelines)? From the DMS site (emphasis mine)
“Does my site break if I stop paying?
No! What happens is you lose access to your professional-only editing tools and effects, the ability to add and edit Professional sections, and a credit link will be subtly added back to your site. Nothing functionality, layout or otherwise will change. We don’t mess with sites!”What this says to me: if we pay, use the tools (incl. a couple of professional bits) to set up our site using DMS to look exactly like the current site does under PageLines, and then we stop paying because this is a lot of money to pay if you don’t need support, we won’t be able to edit our existing professional sections and we’ll get a credit link added to our site. Which means — we’d need to keep paying. forever. b/c its a multisite, we have to pay the top developer price plan.
I have no problem with PageLines — I fully understand that my orgs niche use of their product isn’t really consistent with their business model. That is okay. I just want to know what my alternatives are.
