In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Fatal error after activationMe too – it’s broken on all my sites now.
Same with me – had to isolate this plugin as the cause and deactivate it as I couldn’t add a new page to the menu.

In reply to: [FitVids for WordPress] Not working after WordPress 5.5.1?Hi Kevin, thanks for getting back. The issue seemed be temporary as it started working again, perhaps a conflict with some other plugin – I’m not sure. But thanks for your continued support with this, I find it a very useful plugin.

In reply to: [Max Mega Menu] Max Mega Menu Mobile View Not WorkingI had this problem on a few sites and your Javascript comment helped me to track the problem down to an old plugin that I was using that was causing Javascript errors. Hopefully this might help a few people if they’re having a similar problem. Developer Tools -> Console in Chrome is the place to look.

In reply to: [Browser Screenshots] Stuck on ‘Generating Preview’Yes I would like this option too. I only need a one-off screenshot that can be used in perpetuity, not something regularly refreshed.

In reply to: [Browser Screenshots] Stuck on ‘Generating Preview’Working everywhere for me now – thanks for investigating!
I’ve now got a workaround to this. Don’t use Underscores as a starter theme but use Elementor Hello.

In reply to: [Page Builder by SiteOrigin] Latest version breaks Wp anything sliderI’ve found out that if I have the Page Builder slider (in my case to show images) and the WP Anything slider (in my case to show some html elements) on the same page then WP Anything slider doesn’t work. WP Anything Slider on its own is fine.
I use this because it’s the only slider I’ve found that can slide arbitrary html elements e.g. paragraphs of text.
My solution is to use MetaSlider for my images instead of Page Builder slider. This is also better because Page Builder slider seems to slow down in the back-end when I try to add a lot of images e.g. more than 10 and it’s taken me half an hour to create a slider containing around 15 images! With Meta Slider you can just add them all in one go.

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Option to select by author(s)Hi Dan,
At the moment the school user uploads the file to the media library & ticks a media category – they don’t even need to upload it to a page. I don’t want to make it more complicated for them!
Also they could attach it to the wrong page? One thing I could do is use the normal WordPress categories instead of media categories (Enhanced Media Library allows this) and then there are plugins which restrict which category the user can select. I’m trying to avoid this though as I want to keep WordPress categories to organise posts and media categories to organise the media.
Andrew
I’ve just tried that & it works ??

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Option to select by author(s)Hi Dan,
Thanks for replying. I use Document Gallery to display a page of PDFs that match a Media Category created with Enhanced Media Library. E.g. the Media Category is “Newsletters” and my Document Gallery shortcode contains media_category=”Newsletters” as this is implemented as a custom taxonomy.
On my site the user “schooloffice” uploads a weekly newsletter to the media library & ticks “Newsletters” in Media Categories. This is then displayed on the correct page. I can find no way of preventing them from selecting other Media Categories e.g. ‘Policies’ as this would cause the file to be displayed on other pages which I do not wish to give them access to & I want to reduce the risk of mistakes.
If I could include something like author=”admin” on the policies page then even if they did tick the wrong Media Category the file would never be displayed there.
Before I found Document Gallery, I achieved the same result by customising the page template my own PHP & using WP_Query. I would expect to be able to use the author parameters available in WP_Query to achieve this, although I have not tried it.
Document Gallery has allowed me to quickly insert a shortcode into my pages rather than have to create a custom page template & insert PHP code, which is tedious & more difficult to maintain. Here’s one example of where I’m using it: https://parklandjunior.theparklandfederation.org/newsletters-archive/
