In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Publicize stopped workingBrandon, thank you so much for your valuable insight and information to all my questions. In all honesty, while I somewhat understand the reason why wordpress was developed this way, it seems as if there are a lot of people out there who don’t like this aspect of WP. With that being said I cannot fathom why a new version of WP couldn’t come with the built in option to disable this feature and enable a programmable internal job to run. I’m not a programmer and much of the language and process I read on your links was like reading Greek to me and I was wondering if I can hire someone to make those changes for me on my end as I do not want to screw up my WP as I know I would do if I did it on my own. Let me know if you or someone else you work with us willing to help me with this ok? Again, I’m very grateful for the time you have been taking to help me with this.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Publicize stopped workingSo all that deactivate will do is temporally stop those emails from going out and when I’m done testing, I can activate and it will resend any posts out like normal right? Also, just a silly side question if you could answer it… why did WordPress develop itself that someone has to visit your site to get a scheduled post to actually post. My last blog tool didn’t do this. It just posted at the time I scheduled it whether someone was on my site or not. I just can’t seem to understand why a tool was created to have to trigger a scheduled post versus just doing it automatically???

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Publicize stopped workingBrandon, I’m not sure if I understand about how to turn off the subscription. Is there a feature in jetpack to go to do that. Can you direct me there? And when I have that turned off, can I still post something and test my sharing. The whole thing comes down to wanting to test my sharing at times but without sending those those emails out to my subscribers.

In reply to: [Auto Post to Google+] Google Status Update IssueThe answer was actually that Google Plus is no longer accepting SMS transmissions through email to do the posting, thus this tool is not able to work anymore. I’m going to mark this topic as resolved. Thanks!

In reply to: [Auto Post to Google+] Google SMS no longer supported?Yeah, I just deactivated your plug in and it works fine still. Regardless, thanks for this tool for the time it was working great. I really appreciate it! I’m not sure how to close this issue though.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Publicize stopped workingDoes anyone know if it’s possible to turn off one’s blog subscribers from getting their emails when a post goes out temporarily? I want to do some testing on my blog and I only know how to test it where each blog I post goes out to my subscribers and while I only have a small number of them, they get annoyed when I do this, and actually sometimes their email clients start thinking my blogs are spam. Any help in this would be great?

In reply to: [Auto Post to Google+] Google SMS no longer supported?I just tried that and yes, it didn’t work. So is it safe to assume then, that my postings have been going through using Jetpack, including todays? When did Google Plus start rejecting this do you think? I honestly though that Jetpack wasn’t able to auto post either as you and i had an email conversation awhile ago that I thought Jetpack wasn’t able to share the link and snipped on GooglePlus. Has that functionality been added in the past few months to Jetpack?

In reply to: [Auto Post to Google+] Google SMS no longer supported?Well now I’m really confused. I have Jetpack up and running. I have GooglePlus sharing activated on it. But originally I thought it didn’t connect over with that sharing option. So I added your plugin and activated it and thought that all my postings have been from that? So have my postings recently actually been coming from Jetpack. And yes, I just noticed over in my google plus mail a rejection issue on the SMS. So does that mean my postings are getting over to Google Plus solely from Jetpack?

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Publicize stopped workingBrandon, I have a slightly off, but still related question. When I first set up my GooglePlus account awhile ago and connected it in the sharing screen. Nothing got posted over on my googleplus when I posted, like it immediately did with my Facebook and twitter shared connections. So I had to originally go out and get an extra plug in called Google+ Auto Post to make that happen. My question is this. Is Jetpack supposed to be publishing a quick summary on our Googleplus account, like FB and Twitter does automatically when we set them up in jetpack, without having to get another plugin like I had to do? I’m just curious if maybe that’s already been addressed in the new Jetpack. The way that Google+ Auto Post works is that it uses an SMS connection to send it over. The author of that plugin says that GooglePlus is very particular and that you can’t just auto post from somewhere else. I’m just trying to figure out if that’s true or not…

In reply to: [Auto Post to Google+] Google SMS no longer supported?Mine still seems to be working fine. I just tested it a few minutes ago. I’m only having issues on the google+ status update box and I opened a new topic just now for that.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Publicize stopped workingFair enough, maybe because of the delay and my deleting it, it was able to delete it from the async job? I just thought it strange that the other one showed up but this one didn’t. I guess I’m just not sure how the jetpack share works. Is there a function on each of our hosting servers that queues up the post or is it that there’s a queue somewhere else it goes to… you mentioned there might have been a backup last night… i’m just wondering how the whole process works. In other words, my blog is hosted on Godaddy, when the scheduled post gets put on the web, where is the programming logic for the sending of emails out and the sharing to FB, etc.? Is that on my end or where you are?

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Publicize stopped workingWell Brandon, if Kalidor had the same issue as me last night with the delay and he’s not on GoDaddy, then it’s not GoDaddy here. But I am curious on one thing. I tried a second post last night that I just put “Testing” and a few other words on the subject line and the same in the body… I did that at 12:13AM and while it did again post on my site and then send out the jetpack emails, it never got to FB, Googleplus or Twitter at all. I ended up deleting the post on my site around 12:30am or so… does doing that remove the async job and that’s why it never showed up?

In reply to: nRelate and Publicize No Longer workingI will know at 12:01 AM when my blog posts… I usually write ahead and have scheduled blogs and that’s the time I post them each day. Just curious, who is your host server provider that you use for your blog? I use GoDaddy and am just trying to find a common variable?

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Publicize stopped workingBrandon, i’m not sure if i understand your question. On the sharing menu, I have FB, Twitter, and Googleplus set up and its connected. Everything has been running fine until last night. In regards to my subscribers… the emails that went out are the ones to those who fill in the “subscribe to this blog” widget. I guess they are the jetpack subscribers because when I go look at the Jetpack site stats page it shows down at the bottom the subscribers to my blog. So yes, they went out fine. But at 12:01am, that was fine and so was my blog posting on the web, but the sharing didn’t work initially and then suddenly at 12:33am, 30 minutes or so later, it shows up on all three. I’m not sure how the sharing side works… but I”m a little concerned about what you are saying with GoDaddy. Is this going to be a reoccurring problem? I’m not sure I understand what you mean by a brute force attack? What would cause a 30 minute delay for my one blog to share on the media sites, and then the second never showed up?
