My guess is that Facebook has changed something and hopefully you can help me figure out if it’s a quick fix or not with this plug in.

Jeremy, I’m not sure I understand, given my limited level of programming knowledge. I did uncheck the Twitter Cards checkbox after opening this topic (Automatic Twitter Cards Metadata) to see if that made a difference, but it didn’t. The only thing I’m adding are site-wide meta tags… but I added them ages ago. In the past two days I’ve changed nothing… in fact the last time I changed any settings on my Metadata settings page was many months ago. So does that mean that Facebook recently changed the way they are interpreting things from Facebook? If so, what do I need to do to get the top image on my WordPress blog to carry over like it has been consistently for the past five months? Also, I looked at my plugins… I added a plug in back when I set up the site titled “Add Meta Tag” because it gave front page description and front page keywords and such… if i deleted this plug in… how can I set up a front page description in jetpack? In other words, if i did a google search on my name, andrew arthur dawson, my twelfthstep website is the first result and the front page description shows up below it. If I didn’t have this add meta tag plug in active, what would jetpack do?

I have not changed any settings in the past 48 hours and I”m not sure if it’s on the Jetpack side or the way Facebook is handling things now when WordPress sends something over… I just cannot figure out why the picture on my site is not being carried over now like it was for the past six months since I got on wordpress…

Well last night everything seemed to work fine on a brand new posting that was scheduled. So I’m not sure if your issue is something altogether different? Did you remove all the connections for sharing and then re-add them… as I had to do that once? But I post at 12:01 am each night and while it didn’t work the night before, it worked this past night at that time just fine thank goodness. Jeremy … any ideas for this user?

Jeremy, I never mark any of my scheduled blogs as private, but I checked just to make sure and it was definitely set as public. So I’m not sure how that could have happened. What are you theories?

? As for the ping back… I made a reference to an earlier blog I wrote on my own site and I didn’t think that would trigger a ping back to myself? Is that the case?

Totally understand that part as I do use the sharing options. Is there any possibility of adding more functionality to Jetpack in the near future of showing those counts, or of adding the features that show how many likes there are?

How do I update the title once it’s opened… i don’t seem to see anywhere to do that?

Brandon, everything went through fine tonight at my normal scheduled posting time… You can mark this as resolved and if something else should come up, I’ll open another topic ok? I never got a response to how that 500 error could occur but if it’s a hiccup that can occasionally happen, then I’ll just accept that and let it go. ??

Anything I should be concerned about or need to look into with my server or my blog?

Back to the original topic… i just had my evening post go out at 12:01am as always and while Twitter and Googleplus posted, Facebook did not tonight. I was logged into Facebook at the time and I had posted the previous evening’s link about an hour earlier just to get it on my timeline again, but usually this hasn’t been a problem. But tonight, it didn’t show up. I disconnected FB on the sharing tab, then reconnected it, even though it said connected the whole time. I then waited a few minutes, disconnected the subscriptions option on the jetpack settings and added a quick test post. It worked fine for FB. Then I re-added the subscriptions and tested it again and it worked fine again. Does the connection to FB sometimes drop even though the status says Connected on the Sharing jetpack settings page?

Fair enough I guess that makes sense with things. I was formerly on Quick Blogcast before coming to WP as it was a GoDaddy in house blog tool. Now it makes sense why my blog posts that were scheduled all went out when they were supposed to because it was an in house tool. So the only thing you still didn’t answer is about whether you or someone you know is able to do the programming work that would fix this as I tried Godadys support team and literature already and it was of no help. Or is this a plug in that you know can do this easily for someone like me who is programming illiterate?
