I have a website in English and German using WPML. The default language is set as German via WPML settings. When I go to ai1ec calendar, it appears in English (except for parts being pulled from WordPress). So I suppose it’s the same problem.
Are we any closer to the solution? Do we have a timeline estimate?
Perhaps merge Scissors Continued code into NextGen gallery? ??
Another cool thing that Scissors Continued does is to resize the watermark before applying…the site owner can load a very large watermark and specify “watermark should not be bigger than x% of image”, and that way the watermark is always appropriate for the images…

My experience exactly
You can try dynamic widgets plugin in the meantime. This way, you can use SFC widget for one language, another plugin’s widget for another language.
I would like this as well.
WPML say that it works, after 1 year of work
https://wpml.org/2012/01/multilingual-nextgen-gallery-update/But it is such a crappy manner, that yes, it would seem it doesn’t.
I think the reason for that is that NextGen Gallery doesn’t use Albums and Galleries as custom post types, as it should. And it doesn’t use Photos as attachment post types, as it should.
If these changes are made, I think NextGen’s problems with several plugins, including WPML, NavXT etc will be solved…
That’s already available via Bulk Actions menu.
