It is also defaulting comments to be turned off. How do i change that as well? I’ve looked at other support things but i am not finding my answer. The discussion section is set to allow comments and i’m not finding an advanced option section on the edit post page where i can edit comments showing either. Maybe the category error isn’t allowing the remainder of the page to load to see the advanced option? I can’t recall offhand what the page should look like.

that’s what i’m doing now. I’m looking for a plugin as per the original post.

i don’t use widgets on my blog though. is there another option?

update: i think it’s the comments that needed to be approved first that I am not receiving e-mails for.

The only problem with that is that it’s numbered per blog vs per post. So instead of it counting the comments 1-363, I’m getting 783, 799, 801, etc. It makes it much more difficult that way.

Before, when you would click on the # of comments in a post, it would show all the comments listed and in front of it, they would be numbered in sequence 1, 2, 3, etc in front of each comment. Am i explaining this okay?
