Must be a bug. I’ll get to Github and reportI did. Got hit really hard last week and there was at least on other person that posted here as well.
I was already using the Askimet integration which seemed to be doing the trick.I ended up adding a quiz which plugged the leak, but sadly, I worry that some folks won’t pass it.

For all I know it has helped in the past & it just failed me yesterday. Again – if I try to use really obvious words like “viagra” it does catch it. The stuff I got yesterday was much more cleverI hate CAPTCHAs but the quiz seem to do the trick. I just have to trust that people know the answer to 1+1 ??
I’m in the process of setting up Cloudflare (https://www.cloudflare.com/) I’m hoping that it might help with this.

I’ve been using Askimet which works when I try ‘viagra’ in the subject line, but didn’t stop the massive flow of spam.
I added the quiz which took care of it, but I really wish the Askimet solution would work.as far as

I’ve tried it with the default theme as well as my own (Thematic) theme.
