In reply to: [Plugin: Contact Form 7] Any way to add “confirm e-mail adress” textbox?I would absolutely like this feature. Can’t even count how many times it’s kept ME from sending a bad email address! And if it checks even close to 50% of the submissions, that’s very helpful.

In reply to: Exporting usersWould bribery help? I’m just guessing that someone else on the planet has wanted to collect the name of all their posters in order to send an email to them?

but left this checkec:
Comment author must have a previously approved comment
thanks.

In reply to: post.php does not display “post author” optionmrcbrown, thank you. I just installed a brand-spanking new version of WP on a brand new blog today and, like the rest of you, was baffled that the Post Author was gone. Your fix worked.
Hope this gets fixed soon, though. Pretty old bug to be lurking about.

In reply to: What is the theory behind User list sorting?Michael, that’s how I’d LIKE to see them, but they are listed (in the same area you mention) like I wrote above.
Two questions:
Do you have more than one page of users?
Did you enter ALL the admins BEFORE you had more than one full page of total users?
As I said, it seems to FIRST use ID to determine the overall order and to set which page each item will be on. THEN it sorts each page by roll.
So, if I have 200 users and then add an admin (or author), it will end up on the LAST page, even thought he other admins are on the front page (because they were added first). If I add three admins after I have 200 users, they will all end up on the last page, but grouped together–rather than with all the other admins on the first page.

In reply to: Scheduled post time messed upBTW, articles that are published with a postdate, do not ever post to my site, unless I manually republish them.
Any ideas?

In reply to: Scheduled post time messed upThanks, Jeremy. I’ll check on that.
When I looked it up, it said Mountain DAYLIGHT time is -6 and Mountain STANDARD time is -7. Did I misread?

In reply to: Changing permalinks causes all links to breakDidn’t ever get the pretty links to work. Finally tried the almost pretty links and that works. Wish I knew why because I prefer not to have the additional “baggage” in the URL.
.htaccess is writabe. mod_rewrite is enabled.
Anyone have a clue?

In reply to: Changing permalinks causes all links to breakChecked it. mod-rewrite is enabled…and always has been. Any suggestions now?

In reply to: Meta sidebar problemLysander, thanks for your expertise. The first time I entered it without the class info, it didn’t indent. But now it is, so I must have missed something else.
Textwidget? That code isn’t mine. I edited the Credits widget from within WP. This is all the code that’s there:
<ul> <li>Blog by <a href="https://www.www.remarpro.com">Wordpress</a></li> <li>Forums by <a href="https://lussumo.com/">Lussumo</a></li> <li>Theme by <a href="https://www.wpthemes.info">Sadish</a> </li> </ul>
It seems to be working correctly now.
Again, thanks so much for your input. The moral of the story is, don’t code at 4:00 am.

In reply to: Changing permalinks causes all links to breakI just found this mod_rewrite test:
https://www.wallpaperama.com/forums/how-to-test-check-if-mod-rewrite-is-enabled-t40.html
Link one says, “You are not using mod_rewrite.”
Link two goes to a 404 error page.
Guess I have to check that tonight.

In reply to: Changing permalinks causes all links to breakI thought it was. :/ We host our own servers but the sysop is out of town. How can I check?

In reply to: Page link not redirectingI found out one thing this morning. The link does NOT redirect when I have default permalinks. When I try to use a different permanlink structure, all the links on the page break, ACCEPT the page link. It starts going directly to the forum again, as it should.
Please, any ideas?
