I’m thinking I need to put another instance of the Loop within the first instance. The main loop would gather the 3 most recent posts (setting the 3 within the reading settings in the wordpress dashboard) and then the 2nd instance would gather the next 4 posts. I’m not sure how to tell the Loop to skip the first 3 posts, or where to put the 2nd Loop. Also, can I put a <div> around the 2nd loop to style it differently than the main posts?

I’ve read through that before, but I’m reading it again per your suggestion. I’m familiar enough with the loop to have added sidebars, placed wrappers, etc. Just trying to work through my inexperience. ??

Got it! Using display:inline-block made it all work out beautifully! Thanks again alchymyth!

Oooh! Thanks alchymyth! The display:block was just what I was missing. Now the only problem is getting it to show up before the word “comment” rather than after.

That’s exactly what I did, however, the height and width are being superseded by something else I can’t find. The background shows up, but only to the height and width of the number. Meaning, if there are 10 comments, I can only see the background directly behind the 10, and I can’t get it to expand beyond the margins of that number.

I’d like to know this too…

Is there a different place I should be looking to edit this, maybe? (I obviously need to learn php.)

Mine too, though it’s actually asking me to log in to one of my OTHER sites from inside my dashboard…Hope this is fixed soon!
