DaBum, I installed it on a NEW site and it worked. But I have a friend who used the auto-upgrade, that’s the one that’s broken. My own main site…I’ve decided not to upgrade for now. I’ll wait for the glitches to be worked out.
I’d already tried resetting the plugins (you can’t deactivate them, anyway), and renaming the themes folder made no difference (altho it gave a lovely error message in the dashboard, and the blog itself went to a blank page).
And esmi, if jd’s problem is the same as what I’ve been dealing with, you CAN’T switch themes. It’s like all admin rights are just gone. I have tried a fresh install, it didn’t change anything.
Out of curiosity (because I’ve been trying to help a friend with a similar problem), is there a “submit for review” link when you’re trying to post? I don’t have a solution (yet, at least), but was wondering if it’s some kind of glitch with 3.0.

In reply to: Lost Admin PrivilegesI’m helping a friend with a very similar problem. I tried this solution (along with some others I’ve found on here), but now I’m having a problem with PhpMyAdmin. Everything I do on there comes up with an error, access denied. I searched that one, and came up with a couple of different things that could be causing it. The one that is NOT causing it is the database being full, there appears to be plenty of room. It’s more like the privileges are not set correctly. The site is hosted through Network Solutions, I called them to find out how to set the privileges via PhpMyAdmin, and got a wonderful person who told me he didn’t know how. I am currently waiting for a supervisor to call me back. Any ideas?

In reply to: Admin rights seem to be goneHELP! Which tables should I drop? Everything? Or is there something specific?

In reply to: Admin rights seem to be goneOk, this seems promising. Is there directions somewhere for how to do that (I’m no PhpMyAdmin expert, but I CAN follow directions). And will that lose the template, etc? I have it backed up, so that’s not tragic, but it would be good to know what I’m dealing with ahead of time.

In reply to: importing Movable Type via PhpMyAdminYes, I managed to get a backup of her site. But I can’t for the life of me figure out how to import it into WP. Is there any way that you know of to do so?

In reply to: Right hand Column at Bottom of Page!?Also….is there a reason that the text is so huge on the right hand column? That’s the Cutline template, right? Does it do that when you load the template straight out of the box, or only after you start editing the sidebars?

In reply to: Right hand Column at Bottom of Page!?It’s almost certainly a missing </div> tag. It can be time consuming to find, but that’s probably the problem. Like iridiax said, try validating it, a lot of times that will find it for you.

In reply to: Flash video code from a news site not workingUmmm….bump? Anyone out there have any ideas?

In reply to: Flash video code from a news site not workingBut I can’t even find the right swf file in the code! For all of the plugins I’ve found, you’d need that….and if it’s in there, I can’t find it. The one swf file is not the actual video.

In reply to: Can’t upload imageKay,
I did an upgrade for a friend who has an immense htaccess file, and I just cut and pasted the code at the very end of her file. Worked fine. I’ve found nothing else that worked, including deactivating ALL of my plugins, lol.
Out of curiosity, why don’t you like BB? I’ve never tried Spam Karma, how is it different?
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Can’t upload imageAre you using Bad Behavior? 2.5 does not like Bad Behavior. Disable it, or try the temp fix recommended in the sticky. I couldn’t upload images (same error), I tried simply disabling BB, but that didn’t work. I ended up deleting the install and Bad Behavior, redownloading the WP files just in case anything went wrong with the download, reinstalled, did the htaccess hack mentioned in the sticky, and it worked fine. But without Bad Behavior, I was getting spam, so I redownloaded that, deleted the line about Shockwave, reuploaded and activated, and it all still works.
Good luck. I know how frustrating it is, I spent a lot of yesterday figuring it out.
