well I am sorry that it didn’t solve your problem but it did for thousand others. “a free plugin doesn’t provide support like a paid plugin” doesn’t make the plugin bad or useless. let me remind you that all wordpress plugins (distributed through this site) are licensed under GNU General Public License, version 2 (https://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/gpl-2.0.html). I would encourage you to read “NO WARRANTY” section.

1. you can create free membership level for general public
2. create two paid membership levels for hairstylists and hairschools
3. set default account status to “pending” for new registration.
when the new user shows license, you set account status to “active”
4. set general protection to items you want to keep hidden.

simple membership plugin doesn’t support media content protection yet.
we have plan to introduce in future.

for those who want to be able to show images but keep posts protected…

you can comment out following to lines in classes/class.simple-membership.php

add_filter('wp_get_attachment_url', array(&$this, 'filter_attachment')); // line#33
        add_filter('wp_get_attachment_metadata', array(&$this, 'filter_attachment')); // line # 34

new version has been release .. this should fix your issue..

1. do you have any subdomain?
2. are you using ssl on some of the pages?

how are you creating account? is it being created from admin panel?

could you elaborate the issues you are facing?

what is the user type you are login as? without administrator privilege you cannot edit member list

1. you should check if the mail server in your site is working correctly.
2. check spam folder

apart from that, i don’t see any issue.

you will have to use a separate addon for editing registration form..

this plugins doesn’t allow importing password for security reason. with some restrictions, ya its possible to import csv file.

you need to investigate what this plugin is capable of before using any plugin. this plugin doesn’t support what you are asking for nor its documentation does mention that.
