Hello,
Do you have the “PHP Mail” mail service set up?
Please note: We strongly recommend changing mail service setting to SMTP because email that is sent with PHP Mail generally gets flagged as spam by mail servers and also can take some time to send. See below how to configure SMTP mail services.
- SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)?– In this article, we show how to configure the SMTP mail service for?Gmail, but you can set it up for any other outgoing service that supports SMTP for a mail client. When you select this option, four inputs will appear – you need to populate them to configure SMTP properly. A Google SMTP example:
- SMTP Host?– smtp.gmail.com
- SMTP Port?– 587
- SMTP?Secure?– TLS
- SMTP Username?– Your Gmail address
- SMTP Password?– Your App password (details about setting up an app password can be found in the yellow notice section below)
Google SMTP (Gmail accounts):
From 30 May 2022, Google will no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password, so “Allow less secure apps” will be removed.
In order to continue using SMTP with Gmail, you will need to set up an App Password for Amelia. App Passwords can only be used with accounts that have 2-Step Verification turned on. Instructions about this can be found on Google’s Documentation, here.
For detailed set-up instructions, please take a look at this article on our official support platform.
Microsoft SMTP (outlook, hotmail, live, and office365 email accounts):
If you’re having issues using SMTP with your Microsoft account, please make sure to set up an App Password for Amelia. App Passwords can only be used with accounts that have 2-Step Verification turned on in the Security Basics section of your Microsoft account. Instructions about this can be found on Microsoft’s Documentation, here.

Hello,
Currently, Amelia does not have a built-in feature to book two services (Session A and Session B) together with a mandatory 3-week gap between them. However, there are a few ways to handle this:
- Packages: You can create a package with two sessions (Session A and Session B) that customers can book together. Unfortunately, the system doesn’t support enforcing a specific timeframe between these sessions.
- Events: A potential workaround would be setting up an event for both sessions. This way, you could specify fixed dates for each session, but the key limitation is that these dates would need to be predetermined, and there’s no dynamic scheduling with the 3-week gap between them.
- Payment Calculation: For the payment part, you can use extra services to charge customers based on the number of attendees. For example, if you’re charging 20 euros per person, you can set this as an extra service during the booking process.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

In reply to: [Booking for Appointments and Events Calendar - Amelia] Map viewHello,
Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, there is no map view option for events in either the standard or pro version of the plugin. This feature is currently not available, even for managing events in different countryside locations.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Hello,
We haven’t encountered similar issues with the plugin affecting the WordPress admin interface, including the left-side menu or any elements on the
/wp-admin/customize.php
page. To investigate this further, could you please provide more details? Specifically:- What version of the plugin and WordPress are you using?
- Are there any specific themes or other plugins active that might be causing a conflict?
- If possible, could you share screenshots or a video demonstrating the issue?
This will help us better understand the problem and work towards a solution.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your patience!
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out and considering Amelia for your outdoor climbing park! Here are answers to your main questions:1. Booking System
- Multiple Session Types: Yes, you can set up various climbing sessions (e.g., short and long routes) with specific pricing and durations. However, Amelia does not support conditional logic based on custom fields, meaning you cannot automatically block bookings based on customer age. Instead, age restrictions would need to be communicated clearly in the session descriptions.
- Immediate Payment: You can require immediate payment during booking. Supported payment methods include Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, Square, and WooCommerce.
2. Gift Cards
- Gift Card Feature: Amelia does not have a built-in gift card feature. However, you can offer gift cards using WooCommerce, although this will depend on WooCommerce’s own gift card plugins, which are external to Amelia’s scope.
3. Integration with Other Plugins
- WooCommerce Integration: Amelia integrates well with WooCommerce for handling payments. However, it does not directly integrate with WPForms or Mailchimp.
- Mailchimp Integration via Hooks: While there is no direct integration with Mailchimp, it is possible to connect Mailchimp using webhooks or Amelia’s custom hooks for more advanced setups.
4. General Feedback and Recommendations
- Similar Use Cases: Amelia has been used successfully by various activity centers, including outdoor parks. Users have found it effective for managing session bookings and streamlining payment processes.
If you need further assistance or have additional questions, feel free to ask!
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
The duration depends on the Default Time Slot step which is configured in General Settings of Amelia.
The duration you want to set needs to be dividable by that default time slot step, so if you want to create services that last 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 1.5 hours, you would need to set the default time slot step to 30 minutes (because all 3 durations are dividable by it).
If, however, you need to configure a service (or employee’s work hours, or buffer times – anything that’s related to duration) that lasts 40 minutes, you would need to lower the default time slot step to 10 minutes, and so on.

In reply to: [Booking for Appointments and Events Calendar - Amelia] Which Amelia package?Hello Eva,
Thank you for your inquiry.
For your first client (studio rental), the Standard License of Amelia should be sufficient. It allows you to set up services such as half-day or full-day rentals, as well as extras like breakfast, limbo, and panels. You can also sync with Google Calendar and Outlook, and provide customers the ability to add notes during the booking process. However, please note that Amelia does not support reviews natively, so you would need a third-party solution for that.
For your second client (meeting room rentals), the Elite License would be ideal, as it supports managing multiple locations and offers more advanced features. However, please be aware that there is no option to set hourly rates for bookings unless the length of the service is set to exactly one hour. You can sync with both Google Calendar and Outlook, and enable customers to add notes and easily pay via Mollie.

Hello Merkucio,
The translation of the “days and months” on the Calendar for the Appointment time slots is based on a 3rd Party library,
which will automatically translate if you have the correct language locale set up on the WordPress page.
We have most languages covered – but in some rare situations, we find a new language that is still not added to this library.
In that case, our developers build the new language and add it during an update.
–
We will elaborate more on how it works :
For example, let’s say we wanted to translate the day labels of the Calendar above Time slots to French.
If I change my site language to French, Amelia automatically “triggers the translated library” for the months and days in the Calendar to French :
Here is how it looks if I leave WordPress language in General WordPress settings as English
–
And now, if I change WordPress language to French :
–
If you just need one language, set it as the WordPress default language in General settings and this should work.
If you need a multilingual site with Amelia, you will have to set up different page versions for each language you need with the help of a multilingual plugin.
Please check more about Multilingual Support in Amelia here,
and an additional article here: Using Multiple Languages in Amelia
Hope this explains it.
