Thanks for replying. When you say “Don’t use pages to display posts,” would you elaborate a little? Upon further reflection, I’m not actually doing that (I don’t think). I’m not using the Category Pages plugin (I was at one time, but didn’t end up using it), so I think I’m using the posts as normal posts.

So where do I go from here? I’m trying hard to understand, but it’s not working. I’ve read the page templates and category templates codex pages, and tried to create a category-16.php from the featuredpage.php which came with the theme. I’m sure that the reason it didn’t work is somehow related to what you’re saying.

Can you help more?

I would like to remove the “Comments are closed” text for posts/pages where comments are disabled, BUT leave the entire commenting section for posts where they’re allowed.

Can I do that with this snippet change? It seems like that would work just fine.

Great. How do i know what to fix?

I need to be able to create a form that is viewable and usable to the public (preferably with a Cforms like interface) and have the info from that form post to a POST, and subsequent categories.

(Use: a missing persons website where people can enter info about their missing loved one, which then displays in a list for others to see).

I’m not an experienced designer or programmer, so a plugin for either creating the form and simply choosing something like, “Submit form submission data to POSTS, or PAGE (with an option of pages),” or one that tagged onto CFormsII would be AMAZING!
