Unlike many products in the www.remarpro.com repository, OptinMonster is a SaaS product (essentially software we host so you don’t have to host the entire application on your own site, which can often slow down a site).

Our WordPress plugin extends the functionality of OptinMonster for WordPress users specifically, letting them more easily target pages, posts, categories, tags, and even integrates with other WordPress plugins…but it does require a connection to our app to access the core functionality.

The purpose of registering an account then is so that we can connect the plugin on your site, to the app itself.

Great question! In the OptinMonster for WordPress plugin, you can choose the individual posts you’d like a campaign to display on with the “load campaign on these specific posts or pages” settings: https://optinmonster.com/docs/getting-started-optinmonster-wordpress-checklist/#Configure_Output_Settings

OR,

if you’d like it to display on ALL posts, then you can simply check the “Posts” box under Load on Post Types and Archives.

In both cases, the Display Rules with the campaign builder should be set to display the campaign “on any page.” That way, the targeting in the builder is as broad as possible, then the Output Settings in the plugin narrow down exactly where it can actually display.

Our free subscription includes all of the features of OptinMonster Basic (detailed here: https://optinmonster.com/pricing/). The free subscription includes up to three OptinMonster campaigns, and the first 300 pageview credits free.

A Basic subscription includes up to 2500 pageview credits and unlimited campaigns; otherwise the two subscriptions are the same.

Our free subscription is a great option for exploring OptinMonster.

Yes, to control which campaigns appear on specific languages of your site when using WordPress and WPML, be sure to configure the Display Rules in the Campaign Builder for your campaign to contain the URL Path for the specific language. For example, the URL Path for English is en, for Romanian, it is ro, for Spanish, it is es, and so forth. We don’t natively integrate with them, but we offer a couple of solutions:

Using our Custom HTML Integration to embed your form in any campaign. In this case, you would create a form in your email marketing platform directly, then copy and paste its embed code into your campaign. This allows you to create completely custom popups by simply inserting your own HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while enjoying the page-level targeting, A/B testing, exit-intent, cookie configuration, and everything else that you’ll love about OptinMonster.

Alternatively, you may find our Zapier integration helpful for integrating OptinMonster with apps and software not included in our native integrations. This allows you to create a Zap at Zapier.com and utilize that zap in your OptinMonster campaigns, connecting your campaign to one of over 500 services like Google Sheets, GotoWebinar, Slack, and many more! Our Zapier integration is available with a Pro OptinMonster subscription.

We received another report of this earlier today that included more details about the file flagged as malware that allowed us to investigate more directly. Fortunately, the malware notice is a false flag. We’re working on getting in touch with the anti-virus software that flagged it so that we can get the warning removed, but rest assured there is no malware in our plugin. The alert is an error on the part of the anti-virus software. I’ll follow up again as soon as I have more information to share.

Did you install the OptinMonster plugin from within your WordPress installation by visiting Plugins>Add New, then searching for OptinMonster to install it directly from the www.remarpro.com repo?

Or, have you downloaded the plugin somewhere else and then uploaded it?

It includes all of the features of a Basic subscriptions, including 2 campaigns, and up to 500 campaign impressions. It’s a great option for those just getting started with growing their list, leads and sales.
